One cannot pass through darkness without carrying a light.

393.  One cannot pass through darkness without carrying a light.  Some may mockingly say, "This trivial advice is nothing new!"  Yet they themselves make no attempt to light their fires; they do not even look around to discover the source of fire. They scoff at those who have found the fire; they do not even know that the fire is found not for oneself but for humanity.

Jesus prophesied to the Samaritans the religion of the new age when the true worshipers would worship the Father in the Spirit of the I AM THAT I AM and in the truth of the Word incarnate in the Christ Self.  He gave to them his word of Truth which when followed leads to The Word who is everlasting Life.  But the gift of the crystal cup (of freedom) and the elixir of Life would wait until the conclusion of the Piscean dispensation when the initiations of the resurrection and the ascension--following the long night of their crucifixion--would once again be available to the reincarnated children of the light of Israel.

He knew they must first pass through the dark night of their soul's self-crucifixion through the balancing of personal karma and the dark night of the Spirit's crucifixion through the balancing of planetary karma.  Only then would the souls for whom it is prepared be allowed to drink the full cup of his ascended master light body and receive the full baptism of his ascension flame.  These are the steps of the path that lead to the seat on his right hand and on his left hand where James and John desired to be.
