5G cell towers—warning

5G cell towers are more dangerous than other cell towers for two main reasons.  First, 5G is ultra high frequency and ultra high intensity.  3G and 4G use between a 1 to 4 gigahertz frequency.  5G uses between a 24 to 90 gigahertz frequency.  To put this in perspective, 90 gigahertz is 90 billion electromagnetic waves hitting the cells in your body per second.  This is a whole lot more radiation than we are exposed to naturally.
Second according to experts, because of the shorter length of millimeter waves (MMV) required by 5G to support the bandwidth, these shorter waves do not travel as far or through objects.  This means with our current number of cell towers the cell signal will not be reliable.  To compensate many more mini cell towers must be installed.  It is estimated that they will need a mini cell station every 2 to 8 houses.  Health experts believe this increased exposure to 5G will have a devastating impact on our health.  https://www.radiationhealthrisks.com/5g-cell-towers-dangerous/

This report asserts that first and foremost the public needs publicly-owned and -controlled wired infrastructure that is inherently more future-proof, more reliable, more sustainable, more energy efficient, safer, and more essential to many other services.  Wireless networks and services, compared to wired access, are inherently more complex, more costly, more unstable (subject to frequent revision and “upgrades”), and more constrained in what they can deliver.   -Tim Schoechle, PhD  Boulder, Colorado – 2018    http://electromagnetichealth.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Wires.pdf

May 2018      Buried across North America are large networks of copper wire and state-of-the-art optical fiber that provide the bedrock for a health-safe national communication system of the future.  For too long we have been misled, turned astray by corporate propaganda, by compromised politicians, and by our own technical ignorance into accepting inferior, problem-ridden, and expensive wireless systems. Importantly, wireless systems also have negative economies for speed, such that adding speed becomes progressively more expensive, which then requires more spectrum and cell sites.

Telecommunications companies say installing small cells on things like utility poles and street lights would help them roll out the next generation of wireless technology.  Cities worry about local control over where small cells would be installed and how they’d be regulated.

5G networks will consist of thousands of wireless installations, smaller and more numerous than cell towers. This means that wireless companies can’t use existing facilities, for all of it at least, and will have to apply for access to lots of new buildings, utility poles and so on. It’s a lot of red tape, which of course impedes deployment.
To address this, the FCC this morning voted 3 to 1 along party lines to adopt the order (PDF) entitled “Accelerating Wireline Broadband Deployment by Removing Barriers to Infrastructure Investment.” What it essentially does is exert FCC authority over state wireless regulators and subject them to a set of new rules superseding their own.
First the order aims to literally speed up deployment by standardizing new, shorter “shot clocks” for local governments to respond to applications.  https://techcrunch.com/2018/09/26/fcc-cracks-the-whip-on-5g-deployment-against-protests-of-local-governments/

10-25-18  The White House on Thursday announced that it was developing a plan to "position the United States to lead in next generation wireless networks for years to come."
5G, which refers to the fifth generation of cellular technology, has been hailed as the foundation for other big trends like self-driving cars and streaming virtual reality.  The announcement comes as the first rollout of high-speed 5G networks is expected to begin later this year, with broader deploying coming over the next two years.  Beyond the US, China, Korea and Japan are keen to get into 5G quick too, creating a new kinds of technological arms race.   https://www.cnet.com/news/trump-reveals-plan-for-5g-wireless-network-strategy/

10-25-18  Network security concerns remain an issue with the upcoming 5G and 6G wireless network standards.  That's because security measures being aren't being adopted in new 5G standards, and there's a newly discovered potential for Man-in-the-Middle attacks in terahertz-based 6G networks, multiple research studies have discovered.

One of those studies — a formal analysis of 5G authentication conducted by scientists from ETH Zurich, the University of Lorraine/INRIA, and the University of Dundee — found that criminals will be able intercept 5G communications and steal data because “critical security gaps are present,” the group says in their press release.  That’s in part because “security goals are underspecified” and there’s a “lack of precision” in the 3GPP standards, they say.     https://www.networkworld.com/article/3315626/network-security/5g-and-6g-wireless-technologies-have-security-issues.html
