IS Ukraine being handed over to Putin?

Ukraine will become a NATO member with the Membership Action Plan as an integral part of the process, leaders of the Alliance have confirmed at their summit.  That's according to a communique by the leaders of state and government of 30 NATO Allies.
"We reiterate the decision made at the 2008 Bucharest Summit that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance with the Membership Action Plan (MAP) as an integral part of the process," the communique reads.
"We stand firm in our support for Ukraine’s right to decide its own future and foreign policy course free from outside interference. “…
    •    Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba opined that the Allies at their June 14 summit will make no decision on granting MAP to Ukraine.
    •    Top diplomat Kuleba also said Ukraine officials had been left confused after learning the country's delegation was not invited to the summit amid ongoing Russian aggression targeting the country.

12-14-21     German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock told Russia's Sergei Lavrov to respect Ukraine's territorial integrity, as Kyiv accused Berlin of insufficient support and blocking the delivery of weapons.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock spoke with her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday, telling him that the "territorial integrity of Ukraine must not be violated."
The Foreign Ministry announced on Twitter that the two top diplomats had spoken over the phone about the ongoing crisis on the border between Russia and Ukraine.
Baerbock sought an "honest and open exchange" with Lavrov the Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter, and urged Russia to return to the armistice between Ukrainian troops and Russia-backed rebels.
Lavrov's office said the foreign minister congratulated Baerbock on her appointment during the call and emphasized that "Russia and Germany should work together in the interests of security and stability in Europe and in the world."
He pressed again for Russia's demand that NATO issue an assurance that Ukraine will never become a member, something the alliance has refused to do.

British soldiers (and its Allies) are unlikely to be deployed to Ukraine because the country is not a Nato member, the defence secretary said.

Wallace and the Ukrainian defence minister, Oleksii Yuriyovych Reznikov, issued a joint statement on 16 November which said they were “concerned” by Russia’s military buildup.
“The United Kingdom stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Ukraine and will continue its longstanding determination to support them,” the statement added.
But in an interview with the Spectator Wallace said Ukraine “is not a member of Nato so it is highly unlikely that anyone is going to send troops into Ukraine to challenge Russia”.
“We shouldn’t kid people we would.  The Ukrainians are aware of that,” he added, in comments carried by the Times before the interview’s publication.
Asked if that meant Ukraine was on its own, Wallace said: “We can all help with capacity building but to some extent Ukraine is not in Nato and that is why we are doing the best diplomatically to say to Putin don’t do this.”  https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/dec/18/uk-unlikely-to-send-troops-if-russia-invades-ukraine-says-defence-secretary
