1) Sometimes mankind’s conflicting readings serve to confuse them temporarily; then again they understandably long for seemingly simple ideas of a comfortable orthodoxy which became almost rote to them from early childhood. Do not however concern yourselves unduly with these feelings, blessed ones. They are natural, somewhat nostalgic feelings which are a part of spiritually growing up.
2) The dross of the physical, the weariness of the emotional body, tired of hatred and its monstrous creations, the ceaseless rote of the mental body--all drop away and are replaced in perfect ease by their divine counterparts.
The feelings become charged by the love of God and the angels. The mind is the diamond-shining mind of God--omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent. The total being is inspired and aspiring!
3) Now there are schools which do not place enough emphasis on the exercise of the faculty of memory; others encourage its abuse through learning by rote without soul comprehension (the education of the heart) or the integration of the mental and spiritual faculties.
4) When, blessed ones, you consider the vast realm of thought and exposure to which the mind of man may be subjected through the bombardment of false concepts, you can readily see that almost anything is possible from the level of human creation by the power of man’s imagination….Now when men become involved in a sense of mere rote and lose sight of the cosmic inner design, which is a wholly automatic unfolding of the first pure pattern functioning somewhat as do human reflexes (instinctive and subconscious manipulation of substance), they become victims of a very unfortunate state which, although steeped in the idea of goodwill and the desire to do right, is lacking in the understanding of the joy that can be theirs when they let the divine intelligence itself carry out its great role in expanding man’s freedom.
5) To be about the Father’s business is to be free from the sense of a mere mechanical action or of the thought about following a prescribed rote of the Law….

6) we must point out the dangers of automatic reflection from the subconscious to the conscious mind; for the conscious mind does ever implant its thoughts--whether outworn, transient or deeply engraven--into the great chamber of subconscious knowing….
How long will men suffer from the mechanics of blind acceptance, from rote without feeling and from allegiance to mortal genesis? How long will men accept authoritatively the concepts of life and the hereafter interpreted by men who have not themselves had the spiritual experiences or specific internal guidance from on high to qualify them to be illumined teachers of men?
7) Are people to treat themselves as animals and test themselves within a maze of problems based on a theology recorded in mere creed or rote…
Ravages of a Rote Will Driven by Mechanized Human Habit
The mechanical sense has been employed by mankind in part ever since the fall of man from his high estate. Man’s need to substitute his lesser human powers for his lost divine ones has caused him to seek to master methods of both mind and mechanics in directing and controlling matter and even thought….

8) Regardless of the fact that men desire to find some way whereby, through the process of rote, they can establish in consciousness the law of God and also the law of man--they will not find it! For only through their acceptance of the Christ and his mind and the humility that establishes God--their own mighty I AM Presence--as the dominating factor in their world can men know their freedom.
9) We who understand the meaning of illumination are not so much concerned with rote--with the memorizing of earthly formulae, flights of fancy or poetry, a grasp of flora and fauna, or even an understanding of history itself.

12) In a world where mass consciousness is leveling mankind to a common denominator of the human personality, where herd instinct and animal passions govern monotonous manifestations of egos who are becoming automatons--whether to a totalitarian state, a godless economy, a religion of rote formulae or a runaway science--in a world where the definition of man and woman made in the image and likeness of God is becoming blurred as though seen through the mists of maya it is imperative that all who are alert and awake as watchmen on the wall of life challenge Antichrist.

12) And so it is upon the suggestion of newly ascended souls that I come to you. I come to recommend that you try the Spirit of the living God by the fiat of love–not by frantic calls nor by rote but by the very love that expresses a deep devotion as well as a sense, an almost urgent sense of mankind’s need.
13) Some things bear repetition by the very ritual and movement of energy from the center of the atom to the periphery. This is not rote; it is a cosmic ritual of the seventh age--always the ritual of Father, Son and Holy Spirit and of the Cosmic Virgin.
14) Understand then that even the science of the living God can be abused. 15) In other words the only lawful contact which the soul may entertain with the angelic host, the ascended masters and saints robed in white is through the individualized God-Self. Any other attempt to contact higher intelligences beyond the veil--psychic, mediumistic, by hallucinogenics, black magic or variance or even a rote mechanical performance of sacred rituals--will only entangle the psyche which engages in it further and further into the substrata of unreality.
16) When the great dazzling Word of Life is no longer seen in the splendor of the rising Son of God but is fragmented and compartmentalized so as to convey only half-truths and a warped perspective of the truth then are men content with rote recitation of the most stupendous message that has ever been delivered by God unto man.
17) And when you surrender the Law acts. Therefore do not withdraw that which you surrender. Do not surrender by rote but know that God in you is the surrendering light and that it is an act of pure love for me.
18) And if perchance you should leave off loving the Person of the Word in every ascended master as well as in the embodied avatar--then, beloved hearts, your devotion would quickly degenerate to that legalism and that humanistic assessment of the Law whereby mechanical, rote performance is deemed sufficient. And therefore once again the scales are tipped.
19) Thus those whom you would least expect to be ready for our light are well prepared and those who have taken for granted their position vis-a-vis our bands come with empty hands, for they have forgot the fruit of striving. 20) And once people enter into the rote of human love they do not consider again--often in decades or lifetimes--a higher path, a more intense spiral. And like the proverbial rut, those human habit patterns make deeper and deeper trenches. And thus the flow of the energy of love tends to flow where it has always flowed.
