Babylon in context

1)   Babel (Hebrew), or Babylon (Greek), was one of the cities of an ancient kingdom established by Nimrod early in mankind’s history (Genesis 10:10).  It is considered by some to be the place where life began and was the site where humans attempted to build a tower that would extend up to heaven (Genesis 11:1-4).
Seeing what humans were trying to do, God confused their language so they could not complete the tower they had begun. “Babel” means confusion and was a fitting name for this city whose residents were not obeying God.  This same city became the epitome of all idolatrous worship and the capital city of an empire with its name.
Some 1,500 years after its founding, God spoke of Babylon through the prophet Isaiah, “Babylon is fallen, is fallen!  And all the carved images of her gods He has broken to the ground” (Isaiah 21:9).
The kingdom of Babylon would continue for another 200 years beyond the life of Isaiah until 539 B.C.  The city would continue to be inhabited up until the Islamic invasions around A.D. 650.
The prophecy of Isaiah had a dual meaning.  It not only referred to ancient Babylon, but also to a second Babylon, the Babylon of the book of Revelation (Revelation 14:8; Revelation 18:2).  https://lifehopeandtruth.com/prophecy/revelation/what-is-babylon/

 2)     Archaeological discoveries have shown unequivocally that Ur was a major urban center on the Mesopotamian plain (southern Iraq).  Especially the discovery of the Royal Tombs have confirmed its splendour.  These tombs, which date to the Early Dynastic IIIa period (approximately in the 25th or 24th century BC), contained immense amounts of luxury items made out of precious metals, and semi-precious stones, all of which would have required importation from long distances (Iran, Afghanistan, India, Asia Minor, and the Persian Gulf).[6]  This wealth, unparalleled up to then, is a testimony of Ur's economic importance during the Early Bronze Age.[8]
Archaeological research of the region has also contributed greatly to our understanding of the landscape and long-distance interactions that took place during these ancient times.  Ur was a major port on the Persian Gulf, which extended much further inland than it does today, and controlled much of the trade into Mesopotamia.  Imports to Ur came from many parts of the world.  The imported objects include precious metals such as gold and silver, and semi-precious stones, namely lapis lazuli and carnelian.[7]
It is thought that Ur had a stratified social system including slaves (captured foreigners), farmers, artisans, doctors, scribes, priests.  High-ranking priests apparently enjoyed great luxury and lived in mansions.[7]
Tens of thousands of texts, including contracts, business records, and court documents, record the city's complex economic and legal systems.  These texts have been recovered from temples, the palace, and individual houses….
The site is marked by the partially restored ruins of the Ziggurat of Ur, which contained the shrine of Nanna, excavated in the 1930s. The temple was built in the 21st century BC (short chronology), during the reign of Ur-Nammu and was reconstructed in the 6th century BC by Nabonidus, the Assyrian born last king of Babylon….
Ur came under the control of the Akkadian Empire founded by Sargon the Great between the 24th and 22nd centuries B.C.  This was a period when the Semitic-speaking Akkadians of Mesopotamia gained ascendancy over the Sumerians, and indeed much of the ancient Near East.
After the fall of the Akkadian Empire in the mid-22nd century BC, southern Mesopotamia came to be ruled for a few decades by the Gutians, a barbarian people originating in the Zagros Mountains to the northeast of Mesopotamia, while the Assyrian branch reasserted their independence in the north of Mesopotamia.
The third dynasty was established when the king Ur-Nammu came to power, ruling between ca. 2047 BC and 2030 BC.  During his rule temples, including the Ziggurat of Ur, were built, and agriculture was improved through irrigation.  His code of laws, the Code of Ur-Nammu (a fragment was identified in Istanbul in 1952) is one of the oldest such documents known, preceding the Code of Hammurabi by 300 years….The Chaldeans were already settled in the vicinity by around 850 BC, but were not the rulers of Ur until the late 7th century BC, around 550 BC.    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ur

3)    Babylon is the most famous city from ancient Mesopotamia whose ruins lie in modern-day Iraq 59 miles (94 kilometres) southwest of Baghdad.  The name is thought to derive from bav-il or bav-ilim which, in the Akkadian language of the time, meant ‘Gate of God’ or `Gate of the Gods’ and `Babylon’ coming from Greek.  The city owes its fame (or infamy) to the many references the Bible makes to it; all of which are unfavourable.  In the Book of Genesis, chapter 11, Babylon is featured in the story of The Tower of Babel and the Hebrews claimed the city was named for the confusion which ensued after God caused the people to begin speaking in different languages so they would not be able to complete their great tower to the heavens (the Hebrew word bavel means `confusion’).  …
Babylon was founded at some point prior to the reign of Sargon of Akkad (also known as Sargon the Great) who ruled from 2334-2279 BCE and claimed to have built temples at Babylon (other ancient sources seem to indicate that Sargon himself founded the city).  At that time, Babylon seems to have been a minor city or perhaps a large port town on the Euphrates River at the point where it runs closest to the river Tigris.  Whatever early role the city played in the ancient world is lost to modern-day scholars because the water level in the region has risen steadily over the centuries and the ruins of Old Babylon have become inaccessible….
The Euphrates River divided the city in two between an `old’ and a `new’ city with the Temple of Marduk and the great towering ziggurat in the center.  Streets and avenues were widened to better accommodate the yearly processional of the statue of the great god Marduk in the journey from his home temple in the city to the New Year Festival Temple outside the Ishtar Gate….
Under Persian rule, Babylon flourished as a center of art and education. Cyrus and his successors held the city in great regard and made it the administrative capital of their empire (although at one point the Persian emperor Xerxes felt obliged to lay siege to the city after another revolt). Babylonian mathematics, cosmology, and astronomy were highly respected and it is thought that Thales of Miletus (known as the first western philosopher) may have studied there and that Pythagoras developed his famous mathematical theorem based upon a Babylonian model.        https://www.ancient.eu/babylon/

4)  Marduk was the patron god of Babylon, the Babylonian king of the gods, who presided over justice, compassion, healing, regeneration, magic, and fairness, although he is also sometimes referenced as a storm god and agricultural deity.  His temple, the famous ziggurat described by Herodotus, is considered the model for the biblical Tower of Babel.  The Greeks associated him with Zeus and the Romans with Jupiter.  He is depicted as a human in royal robes, carrying a snake-dragon and a spade.  Marduk seems to have originated from a local deity known as Asarluhi, a farmer's god symbolized by the spade, known as a marru, which continued as part of his iconography.  Marduk's name, however, though linked to the marru, translates as 'bull-calf,' although he was commonly referred to simply as Bel (Lord).  Far from the local deity he sprang from, Marduk would become the most prestigious god of the Mesopotamian pantheon.
He was the son of the god of wisdom Enki (also known as Ea, considered a creator god in some myths) who was also associated with fresh, life-giving water.  Marduk's association with Enki is no doubt linked to the earlier regional deity Asarluhi who had the same relationship and shared many of Marduk's characteristics.  Marduk's wife was the fertility goddess Sarpanitu (though in some myths his wife is Nanaya), and their son was Nabu, the patron god of scribes, literacy, and wisdom.  https://www.ancient.eu/Marduk/

 5)
                                           - Z. Sitchin--chronology:
450,000 years ago
On Nibiru, a distant member of our solar system, life faces slow extinction as the planet's atmosphere erodes.  Deposed by Anu, the ruler Alalu escapes in a spaceship and finds refuge on Earth.  He discovers that Earth has gold that can be used to protect Nibiru's atmosphere.

 445,000
Led by Enki, a son of Anu, the Anunnaki land on Earth, establish Eridu -Earth Station I - for extracting gold from the waters of the Persian Gulf.

430,000
Earth's climate mellows.  More Anunnaki arrive on Earth, among them Enki's half-sister Ninhursag, Chief Medical Officer.

416,000
As gold production falters,  Anu arrives on Earth with Enlil, the heir apparent.  It is decided to obtain the vital gold by mining it in southern Africa.  Drawing lots, Enlil wins command of Earth Mission; Enki is relegated to Africa.  On departing Earth, Anu is challenged by Alalu's grandson.

400,000
Seven functional settlements in southern Mesopotamia include a Spaceport (Sippar), Mission Control Center (Nippur), a metallurgical center (Shuruppak). The ores arrive by ships from Africa; the refined metal is sent aloft to orbiters manned by Igigi, then transferred to spaceships arriving periodically from Nibiru.

380,000
Gaining the support of the Igigi, Alalu's grandson attempts to seize mastery over Earth.  The Enlilites win the War of the Olden Gods.

300,000
The Anunnaki toiling in the gold mines mutiny.  Enki and Ninhursag create Primitive Workers through genetic manipulation of Ape woman; they take over the manual chores of the Anunnaki.  Enlil raids the mines, brings the Primitive Workers to the Edin in Mesopotamia.  Given the ability to procreate, Homo Sapiens begins to multiply.

200,000
Life on Earth regresses during a new glacial period.

100,000
Climate warms again.  The Anunnaki (the biblical Nephilim), to Enlil's growing annoyance, marry the daughters of Man.

75,000
The "accursation of Earth" - a new Ice Age-begins.  Regressive types of Man roam the Earth.  Cro-Magnon man survives.

49,000
Enki and Ninhursag elevate humans of Anunnaki parentage to rule in Shuruppak.  Enlil, enraged, plots Mankind's demise.

13,000
Realizing that the passage of Nibiru in Earth's proximity will trigger an immense tidal wave, Enlil makes the Anunnaki swear to keep the impending calamity a secret from Mankind.

11,000 B.C.

Enki breaks the oath, instructs Ziusudra/Noah to build a submersible ship.  The Deluge sweeps over the Earth; the Anunnaki witness the total destruction from their orbiting spacecraft.
Enlil agrees to grant the remnants of Mankind implements and seeds; agriculture begins in the highlands.  Enki domesticates animals.   …

 6)      To guard the consciousnessness of the I AM THAT I AM He placed at the east of the garden “cherubim and a flaming sword which turned every way to keep the way of the Tree of Life.”  The east is the side of the Christ consciousness and the sword is the sacred word of the living truth that proceeds out of the mouth of the Faithful and True.  It is the sword that turns every way in the quadrants of Mater to protect the soul’s out picturing of the threefold flame of the Christed one....
Enter the kings of the East, enter the wise men who have exercised wise dominion in the uses of the threefold flame!  These carry the abundance of the Mother which shall not be taken from them.  Now let us see the judgment of Babylon the Great and of these things which were foretold by Jesus the Christ which will shortly come upon mankind unless they repent of their deeds.  You who would keep your garments in the Lord as veils of innocence that are for the covering of the body of the Mother, let your gaze rest upon the stars, upon the trees that move in the winds of the Holy Spirit, upon the highest mountain your eyes can trace where you see the turning of the worlds as the clouds move into the Sun.  The rending of the veil of innocence is the great calamity of mortal existence….
I am Uriel standing in the place of the Sun.  Centered in the great Sun disc I am come.  I stand before all who have rent their garments and who know not that they are naked before the Lord
-Archangel Uriel:  Pearls of Wisdom 18:45

7)   As you know there are two Babylons:  the ecclesiastical and the political Babylon, one the false hierarchy of anti-Christ in church, the other the false hierarchy of the International Capitalist/Communist Conspiracy.  Both of these false hierarchies comprise the world cult of idolatry and the abuse of power

8)    Understand, my friends, that authentic spiritual lineages that oversee the evolutions of Earth are few and far between.  For inasmuch as the weight of mankind’s karma is so great--and mankind show little or no intention of balancing that karma--the lineage of Sanat Kumara is the only lineage that the Great White Brotherhood is sponsoring in this 2,150-year dispensation of the Aquarian age.       -Morya:  4-16-1995 at Royal Teton Ranch, Montana
……………………………………………………………………………................................................…….
9)   With the transfer of the mantle from Master to disciple comes the transfer of responsibility.  The disciple pledges to carry on the mission of his Master.  In order for the work of the Great White Brotherhood to continue on Earth someone in embodiment must wear the mantle of Guru.

10)     In order to make the transition to the future…openness--open ears, open minds, open hearts….

Our principles are our moral compass.  Order is heaven’s first law.  Trust is in ourselves and in our heartflame, trust in God, trust in the human experience, trust people even if they betray you.  Better let them betray you than you betray them.             -Messenger E C Prophet:  6-30-1997 at San Diego
