the real cost of the US-China partnership

8-2-21  Apple, GM Caterpillar, Boeing, Starbucks, Nike, Ford,  get ~15%-25% of their revenue from China   https://finance.yahoo.com/news/10-us-companies-highest-revenue-225350456.html

A massive 97% of survey respondents said their China operations were profitable.  And that is up from the 85% who said so in 2015 and the 90% who said so in 2016….Multinationals, who took years to plan to set up shop or find the right partners in China, are accustomed to obstacles.   https://www.forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2019/08/30/us-companies-china-unfair-but-we-dont-really-care/?sh=39c549204adf

Ker Gibbs, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, in an interview with CNN Business last week. “I think if you talk to American business executives, they don’t see a full decoupling as an option at all.”  Nearly 77% of the companies that took part in AmCham’s annual survey this summer said they made money in China in 2018.  Almost half of the respondents also said they expected to invest more in the country this year, compared to just under a quarter that said they would scale back.

“China will be a fully developed nation in 30 years. Its economy is going to be as big as the US,” JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon told Bloomberg in March.  “We’re all in.  And so we’re not slowing down,” Dimon said at the time.  https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/11/business/us-china-trade-war-business/index.html

Out of 124 company leaders just over half, or 54.8%, said they are “more optimistic” and 8.1% are “much more optimistic” about doing business in China following President-elect Joe Biden’s win, according to a survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai released Friday.  (Yet) only 13.7% of respondents plan to increase investment in China, with the majority sitting tight or undecided on their local development plans.https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/20/us-companies-optimistic-about-china-business-under-biden-survey-finds.html

7-25-21  Epoch Times report.  Yi-Chi Shih, 66, of Hollywood Hills, gets 5 year sentence.  Shih was arrested in January 2019 after he was found to have been involved in an illegal scheme to obtain monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) from an unnamed American company and smuggle them to the Chinese company Chengdu GaStone Technology (CGTC), which was placed on the Commerce Department’s Entity List in 2014.

Shih was also convicted of four counts of mail fraud, two counts of wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to gain unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information, one count of making false statements to an FBI agent, three counts of subscribing to a false tax return, and four counts of making false statements to the IRS about his foreign assets.

Court papers state that Shih defrauded a U.S. company that manufactured broadband, high-powered semiconductor chips which have several commercial and military applications.

The semiconductor chips, also known as MMICs, are used in missiles, missile guidance systems, fighter jets, electronic warfare, electronic warfare countermeasures and radar applications.  Those exported by Shih to China were intended for AVIC 607, a state-owned entity.

According to court documents, Shih was president of CGTC, which was building an MMIC manufacturing facility in the city.  The company was placed on the list “due to its involvement in activities contrary to the national security and foreign policy interest of the United States--specifically, that it had been involved in the illicit procurement of commodities and items for unauthorized military end use in China.”  https://www.zerohedge.com/political/electrical-engineer-gets-five-years-prison-selling-missile-technology-china

Tang Juan, a biology researcher at the University of California, Davis, who was taken into custody last July at the San Francisco consulate, was scheduled to appear in court for the start of her trial Monday.  The Journal reported Friday that judges had previously dismissed elements of the cases against Tang and another researcher, citing that FBI agents had not adequately informed the two of their rights against self-incrimination.

We’ve reported extensively that the Chinese scientists working on bioweapons are all members of the China military.  https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/07/corrupt-biden-doj-drops-charges-five-chinese-scientists-accused-concealing-ties-chinese-military/

5-18-21  The creation of the COVID-19 virus was entirely under the command and control of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), led by presumed head of China’s biowarfare program, Major General Wei Chen, while under the day-to-day supervision of key members of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences.

The scientists and resources accessed to advance the project included both Chinese and U.S. universities and research institutions.

Largely based on an examination of Chinese-language documents and scientific publications, one can state that the Military Veterinary Research Institute and the Institute of Zoonotic Diseases in Changchun, Jilin Province, China, led by People’s Liberation Army General Ningyi Jin and retired General Xianzhu Xia, are core elements of China’s biowarfare program.

At least four subordinates of Xianzhu Xia and Ningyi Jin have been engaged in a massive domestic and international virus collection effort for over eight years: Biao He, Quanshui Fan, Changchun Tu and Zhiqiang Wu.

Biao He, together with Changjun Wang of the Third Military Medical University, played a key role in the isolation of bat coronaviruses ZC45 and ZXC21, claimed by Chinese whistleblower Dr. Li-Meng Yan to be the viral backbones for COVID-19....there are two aspects of Ningyi Jin’s research activities that raise red flags.  Not only does he use genetic engineering extensively, but Ningyi Jin is one of a number of scientists in China, who since 2007 have conducted experiments with a transgenic mouse model containing the human receptor for coronaviruses....

The artificial insertion of the furin polybasic cleavage site into a bat coronavirus backbone was likely done under the supervision of

Shibo Jiang in coordination with his military-trained colleague Shuwen Liu and others at the School of Pharmaceutical Science, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China.  In 2013 Shibo Jiang and Shuwen Liu, published the methods for artificially inserting a furin polybasic cleavage site similar to that found in the COVID-19 virus....

That study was supported by a grant to Shibo Jiang from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (#81173098), which was entirely devoted to viral entry via a membrane fusion process, known to be facilitated by furin polybasic cleavage sites and enhancing viral infectivity and pathogenicity.  At the same time Shibo Jiang was conducting those experiments, he was also being funded by Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

The COVID-19 virus binds to human cells 10-20 times better than the 2002-2004 SARS virus.  From the beginning, the COVID-19 virus appeared to be well-adapted even pre-adapted for binding to human cells.    -Lawrence Sellin    https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/05/report-chinas-military-weapon-covid-19-constructed-completely-command-control-chinese-military/                          .................................................
