passaging in petri dish of recombinant virus (in part or whole) admitted by WIV scientist

A Reverse genetic system is one of the most useful tools for studying and combatting viruses.  The system allows researchers to make the virus in the lab and manipulate it in a petri dish.

  In his dissertation "Reverse Genetic System of Bat SARS-like Coronaviruses and Function of ORFX" (April 2017) 

Zeng Leiping stated that he and other WIV researchers used this (reverse genetics) system to "construct an S gene chimeric recombinant viral infectious BAC clones with…"    -Dept. Homeland Security publication  (now unavailable as far as I can find.  But the Seeker 268 gives an excerpt, no link to source, below:   -r.)
