  We (Anjeanette Roberts of NIH, Ralph Baric, Boyd Yount, et alia.) adapted the SARS-CoV (Urbani strain) by serial passage in the respiratory tract of young BALB/c mice.  Fifteen passages resulted in a virus (MA15) that is lethal for mice following intranasal inoculation.  Lethality is preceded by rapid and high titer viral replication in lungs, viremia, and dissemination of virus to extrapulmonary sites accompanied by lymphopenia, neutrophilia and pathological changes in the lungs.    ………………………………………………………………………                                                    (So the PRC urgently sent over many more virology, microbiology and related fields scientists than just Dr. Zhengli Shi or her friend virologist Dr. Xiangguo Qiu to the USA and to Australia, Canada and so forth.  The list is long and GOF was in full swing.  -r)

8-11-21  the Virology Division of the Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America (SCBA)--Shan-Lu Liu of Ohio State University is president.  Not only does Shan-Lu Liu collaborate with PLA scientists like Cheng-Feng Qin, believed to be a key figure in China’s biowarfare program, but there is evidence pointing to his role as an organizer of CCP propaganda in the U.S.

Qiu received her MD degree from Hebei Medical University in China in 1985 and came to Canada for graduate studies in 1996.  She was later affiliated with the Institute of Cell Biology and the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg.  She was not engaged in the study of pathogens while at that institute.
