8-27 As a precaution Japan suspended Thursday the use of around 1.63 million doses of Moderna vaccine after contaminants were found in some unused vials. Under a contract with Moderna, a Rovi factory in the suburbs of Madrid handles the final process of vaccine production for doses shipped outside the United States, filling the bottles with raw materials produced by a Swiss company.

8-26 TOKYO/ NEW YORK -- About 1.6 million doses of Moderna's coronavirus vaccine have been taken out of use in Japan because of contamination reported in some vials, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare said early Thursday. Several vaccination centers have reported that vaccine vials contained foreign matter, according to an announcement from the ministry, which added it will seek to minimize the impact of the withdrawal on the country's inoculation program.
The ministry said later in the day that the substance that had been mixed in may have been metal. "It's a substance that reacts to magnets," a ministry official said. "It could be metal." https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Coronavirus/COVID-vaccines/1.6m-Moderna-doses-withdrawn-in-Japan-over-contamination

8-26 The Japanese health authorities said that unspecified contaminants were found in nearly 40 doses (so far) of the vaccine at eight locations across the country, the Times reports. https://news.yahoo.com/japan-halts-over-1-6-120824697.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall

8-23-21 Vaccine-maker Moderna announced this week that it has inked a contract with the government of Canada to supply 20 million doses of its experimental mRNA shot (with an extra 15 million doses thrown in if required) for each of 2022, 2023 and 2024. Not a bad deal for your first product ever to market — and a drug that’s still in clinical trials to boot. There’s 105 million doses of Moderna vaccine coming for an entire population of 37 million men, women and children, including babies. https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/293-million-covid-vaccine-doses-ordered-for-canadians-enough-for-nearly-eight-shots-per-year-for-every-man-woman-and-child/

7-21-21 To date Pfizer and BioNTech have shipped more than 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses to more than 100 countries or territories in every region of the world. The companies are firmly committed to working towards equitable and affordable access for COVID-19 vaccines for all people around the world, actively working with global governments as well as global health partners with the aim to provide 2 billion doses to low and middle income countries in 2021 and 2022 – 1 billion each year. This includes an agreement to supply 500 million doses to the U.S. Government at a not-for-profit price, that the government will, in turn, donate to the African Union and the COVAX 92 Advanced Market Commitment (AMC) countries, as well as a direct supply agreement with the COVAX facility for 40 million doses. https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/pfizer-and-biontech-announce-collaboration-biovac

PEGylated Nano-Graphene Oxide for Delivery of Water Insoluble Cancer Drugs
Zhuang Liu, Joshua T. Robinson, Xiaoming Sun and Hongjie Dai* Department of Chemistry, Stanford University, Stanford, CA, 94305, USA
Thus far, little has been done to explore graphene in biological systems, despite much effort in the area of carbon nanotubes for in vitro and in vivo biological applications.4- 9 Here, we synthesize and functionalize nanoscale graphene oxide (NGO) sheets (<50nm) by branched, biocompatible polyethylene glycol (PEG) to render high aqueous solubility and stability in physiological solutions including serum. We then uncover a unique ability of graphene in attaching and delivery of aromatic, water insoluble drugs. https://arxiv.org/pdf/0807.4959.pdf

Dec. 2019 Nanohydrogels, chitosan, graphene oxide and solid lipid nanoparticle nanocarrier designs and applications are selectively given due to the great attention they have gained from being highly biocompatible and easy-to-manipulate nanocarrier options from organic and inorganic nanocarrier materials.
can differ in color, conductivity, reactivity, surface area to volume ratio, and surface tension from macro forms. Due to this, nanomaterials have attracted the attention of scientists for their potential utilization in vaccines, drug development, and drug delivery.4 Over many years, many nanomaterials have been adopted as nanocarriers, i.e. nanohydrogels, oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions, liposomes, and nanoparticles based on synthetic polymers or natural macromolecules.5 The very first studies were conducted by Couvreur et al.6 and Kreuter and Speiser.7 in the late 70s, where the team exploited polymeric nanocapsules as lysosomotropic carriers and adjuvants. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7227887/
