1) Control--psychological, hypnotic, psychic, astral--is sought by the ignorant and learned alike--who, warped in their views, pragmatic only in imitation of their contemporaries who are spiritually ignorant, seek, by and through fear, threat and intimidation, to have controlling power over the minds and worlds of men and of one another. Fear is a powerful weapon.

Therefore when heart and mind and being of man are concerned and captivated by the all-encompassing power of His ever-flowing light and love, His wisdom and His deliverance, they cannot be caught by the snares of the world and the darkness of mortal creation of thought and of feeling….
And the point of light within the Mind of God shall surely enter into the point of light within the mind of man! And therefore by the will of God the divine nature is imparted unto all who will receive it--be it but for a moment. It can be made a permanent gift, for such is the intent of Life when man permits it and desires the existence of this within the forcefield of himself to magnetize and to draw forth this wonderful Spirit, to permit the ingress of the light, to commune with the light, to become the light, to bask in the light, to understand the light and to know that the light—the Christos—is the reality of life and is the consecrated effort which flooded the mind of Jesus the Christ.
4) The inscrutable face of the world order seized upon by fanatics, one facet at a time, is itself unknown to the masses who accept things as they find them and seldom attempt to change them. Those who would control men--advertising hypnotists, owners and directors of mass media of communication, planners of scholastic systems, even those who would lead men toward a form of godliness--all work in the direction of confinement rather than limitless expression.
5) Be of good cheer, for it is I. I AM Victory. And out of the joy of my heart I bring to each one of you the realization that the light, the unfailing light of God, is charged with the faith of your own victory over every outer set of circumstances that seeks to control or to direct your life.

7) There are many who wait for external conditions to shape their lives, and we acknowledge that to a great extent outer circumstances do control the lives of men. But men must recognize that the inward affinities of the soul and the accumulations of good and bad karma are the actual promoters of their destiny. -Meru: Pearl 12:40

8) So long as men wait upon the world for the fulfillment of their desires so long will they wait in the recalcitrance and hopelessness of those who do not understand that one is taken and another is left. The justice of God on earth must become the work of the individual. Those who crave social justice are those who would build worldly fences of unenforceable law and order; they do not realize that the establishment of law and order comes about as men claim that holy sense of justice that burns behind the veil of the appearance world. One day they will learn that it is only in the realm within, in the inner thoughts and feelings, that transformation can occur and that the transformation of the individual is the key to the salvation of a planet.
9) There are many who are at various stages of mastering the control of negative energy and manipulating their fellowmen by a wide range of tactics and techniques. There are also spiritual devotees of varying degrees of advancement who are in the process of mastering the godly control of energy and who understand somewhat the Brotherhood’s systems of protection and the countermeasures they can take in defense of their own life plan.
10) But in the name of universal love have you thought of the globe of self-consciousness, of the garment you have woven by your thoughts and your feelings? Are you able to separate the ideas that are your own from those that are driven against you, that penetrate your mind from without–concepts alien to your innate sense of right and wrong, but all too often determinant in molding your thoughts and feelings? Outside influences can be benign as well as evil; for man if he wills it so is also subject to the dazzling and powerful penetrations of cosmic Christ-love.
11) You must stop and think: how could you, as an individual unique upon earth, enter into the mainstream of this our teaching and accept so fervently the reality of our Word--even that Word that often impels you to do such things as to purchase a land such as this without the ultimate outer knowing of its consequences, of its plan? Your receptivity, beloved ones, is certainly not due to the personality of the messenger, nor to mind-control, nor to brainwashing. Let them say it as they will. It is not so--and the truth will prevail! The reason for your devotion (and you need not be ashamed of that devotion) is your own soul’s inner knowing and attainment and flowing with the stream of the Mother upon earth.
12) Following the Civil War the robber barons–men such as Jay Gould, John D. Rockefeller, Cornelius Vanderbilt and John Jacob Astor--and other financiers and industrialists seized control of the institutions of the country through their unscrupulously gained wealth. By definition a nation’s leadership is an elite. It is when this elite becomes self-serving that the problems of the nation arise.
13) You can come unglued from this bonding by your freewill even as you may allow your mind to become unglued and the forces of insanity to enter there and to tell you that the will of God is not good. But you can by the recitation of the mantra and even of the ritual to God’s holy will affirm and confirm and define where you are the essence, even the elixir of God’s holy will….Looking at empty rooms and four walls you may perceive, beloved, that there is God, God, God, without the mind being caught on a hook of this or that knickknack or bric-a-brac that never was a necessity at all; for the God within you is all there is. And thus, beloved, hallow emptiness and fill it with the Holy Spirit….
You must have the opening. The ears must be opened! The pores must be opened! The chakras must be opened! And you must have a listening heart! You must have a listening mind! You must have space where I can speak to you and you can recognize my ray as distinct from the babble of all of the other astral voices that promise you this and that and easier paths and easy rewards….And therefore we will inspire you to control the tongue, to control the mind and let it control the tongue and to let the heart be instigator of the spoken word or the silence.
