The beginning of striving to be Buddha

The beginning of striving to be Buddha
Is self-mastery formulated from the fiery core--
The light that lighteth every man and woman
Born of the essence of God-good.

Those who apply themselves diligently
To the Law of the Christed ones
Are not afraid to make a strenuous effort
As Christ did in Gethsemane....

Thus the desiring to be the Buddha/ Must contain within itself
That humility which does provide/ Totality of being
That all mankind might walk/ Over the body of the Buddha,
Might pass through his mind,/ Might be nourished by his energy,/ His self-mastery.
-Gautama Buddha:  Quietly Comes the Buddha, chapter 3, 1975, 1977

In the olden days the few held within the folds of their consciousness the focus of man’s infinite identity and purpose, while the masses played at competitive games involving an almost animalistic struggle for social and economic survival.  The vultures of struggle amplified struggle, and peace seemed far away.  Yet peace, O hearts of light, is a many splendored thing.  It is a gesture of infinity loving the finite into the greatness of itself.          -Gautama Buddha:  Pearls of Wisdom 14:1

Those dimensions of heart of which I speak are available to all who will inwardly pursue the radiance of the way of peace.   But the peace is to be found in the divine nature....
Beloved hearts of light, the kingdom of God is within you.  When you really understand that, the way of peace is known to you and the adventure of living becomes more palatable, more acceptable to your outer consciousness and I am quite sure more acceptable to the Law of Love that is a part of your inward nature, even as it is the part of all mankind.
But what a pity it is that men are allowing themselves today to be captivated by those who seek to divide men into little camps of opposition.  They cannot understand the way of peace, the way of nirvana.  They do not understand the Be-ness of God, that God is everywhere and that He dispenses those drops of life which are His reality as the golden oil of the anointing of the One Spirit Most Holy which all can receive because to all it is given--a treasure of sweetness, a treasure of compassion that reaches up magically enough, miraculously enough--to participate in the grand adventure of becoming one with God....
The balance of the genuine heart should remain undisturbed by the rumblings in the world order while possessing the flexibility of being moved by the gentle winds of the Spirit that bear fresh ideas from God’s own hand, from the realm of cosmic purpose.                   -Gautama Buddha:  7-1-1971 via Messenger Mark Prophet
