On a famous quatrain by Nostradamus

 On July 21, 1999 CCP outlawed Falun Gong.  On July 25-27, 1999 Rus P. M. Stepashkin visited USA.

Between the two dates is July 23, 1999, say 6 p.m. Vladivostok time.  This chart then:

Sun and Mercury trine Moon and Pluto rising.  Sun and Mercury opposing Neptune.  Venus squares Moon and Pluto.  Jupiter-Mars-Sun/Mercury-Neptune in full fixed cross.  Saturn-Uranus-lunar nodes in fixed sign T-square.  Devastating set up:  everything (ALL astrologic factors) like a trigger-

finger.

Progress Sun forward 15.5 years to the square with natal Saturn and opposition to natal Uranus:  murder of  Boris Nemtsov in Moscow on 2-27-2015 (Sun progression at rate of 1 degree/year, hence it goes to 15.5 degrees Leo.)   -r.

The year 2014 saw China move closer to great power status as part of the “great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation” (中华民族伟大复兴).  Whereas for decades this was done by “hiding one’s capabilities and biding time” (韬光养晦), it now seems clear that, under President/CCP Chairman Xi Jinping, China already considers itself a great power – and so brings its own “big diplomacy with Chinese characteristics” (中国特色的大国外交).  And being a great power has also meant finding a new modus vivendi with the United States – a “new type of great power relations” (新型大国关系) – which seems to imply that China already sees itself as America’s peer.  https://thediplomat.com/2015/01/china-2014-year-in-review/

Back to the 7-23-1999 chart:  in 34 years Sun progresses to the natal Venus, so that would be in autumn 2033.  The pressure at that time seems less apparently.  Yet progressed Sun opposes progressed Moon (rate of 13.18 degrees/year) in autumn 2033 of this chart, both squaring the nearly conjunct natal Moon and Pluto.  Still quite ominous, then, rather hiding behind natal Venus.  -r.
