We are at the helm

1)   II, v, 15.  It is tempting to receive immediate material advantages.  Even intelligent men have no objection to receiving a title, not weighing its consequences.  The cemetery is full of high titles; this is the memorial to that fence which is the insulation of matter.    -Leaves of Morya's Garden 1925

2)    83.  Strong is an action when there are ten solutions behind it.  The inexperienced need a fire behind them, but those who have been called may find all the entrances open.
88.  We always begin with a very small outline.  This is an experiment very many centuries old and is also a basic cosmic principle.  A solid and indivisible seed will produce a growth of elements.  But wavering and lack of sensitiveness, repeatedly manifesting, result in haziness.  The sensitiveness of the vital principle compels economizing with firm seeds.
183.   Only vigilance will provide the rampart for the Community.
266.  Certainly the realization of world cooperation must grow.  The obstinacy of ignorance will be no obstacle.

3)    81.  In the decisions manifested by cosmos the most unusual conditions coalesce, hence a keen tension of the centers is so necessary.     -M:  Infinity 2, 1930

4)    272.  True, in irritation lies the chief harm to the fires.  At the symptoms of irritation one is advised to inhale deeply ten times. The inhaling of prana has not only a psychic significance but also a chemical one, for prana is beneficial to the fires and also extinguishes irritation.    -M:  Hierarchy 1931

5)   37.  An agni yogi is economical in everything not because of niggardliness but through knowing the value of energy that is poured from Above.  Thus he saves his own as well as the surrounding energy.  People's error usually lies in presupposing energy to be only in great actions and forgetting that the expenditure of the same energy, which is precious in essence, is far greater in small matters.  Small actions as well as small things encumber life.  Especially must one beware of dust which mixes with the emanations of things and dissipates that personal energy which should be preserved in one channel.  Thus will we safeguard everything connected with the energy of Hierarchy.
192.  Ten prophets and clairvoyants may testify in vain about a hidden sickness, but they will be regarded as liars because the coarsest stage has not yet taken place.  Similarly humanity has educated itself in coarse forms in everything, having eschewed refinement and straight-knowledge.
-M:  Heart 1932

6)    211.  A one-sided consciousness inevitably stumbles over dogmas and is frightened by sophistry.  Yet Sophia is not sophistry, and experimentation is not prejudice--thus one may gather a useful collection.
527.  when ten men test their prowess separately they will find that the sum of their individual efforts is less than the total of their joint effort.  This mysterious something is the crown of cooperation.  Again we touch on the fiery domain.  Only a combined rhythmic effort summons the fiery reserves.  Is not such a calculable strengthening a proof of fiery energy?   -M:  Fiery World 1933
………………….………………….…………….…...
7)   441.  No one can predetermine what forms of cooperation may be developed.  Institutions founded by cooperatives may be highly diverse and cover the problems of education, industry and of rural economy.  It is impossible to imagine a single field which could not be vastly improved by the cooperative.  One should not prohibit people from gathering together for cooperation in completely new combinations.  The cooperative is a bulwark of the state and a nursery for public life….Surely cooperation will also teach unity.
-M:  Aum 1936

8)   36.  Urusvati understands the significance of calmness necessary for action.  People find many ways to explain this quality.  Some think that without an effort of the will there can be no calm.  Others see calmness as a true innate characteristic, and still others say that a crooked beginning brings a crooked end, or that calmness depends upon the method of labor.  All of these observations have a part of the truth in them, but the most basic one, the quality of experience, is often forgotten.  An inexperienced seaman is apprehensive when boarding a ship, but after ten voyages he astonishes those around him by his calmness.
38.  At present the world has exceeded its bounds, the ship has lost its course, and the cosmic whirl speeds its movement.  We are at the helm, but other sailors should also help.  The terror of Armageddon can be transformed into a manifestation of success, but first Armageddon must be discerned and the meaning of Hierarchy understood.  The role of woman in the world's economy has been strengthened. Never before have so many women been called to high positions.  Our counsels penetrate into far-off places.
-M:  Supermundane 1, 1938
…………………………….………………….………….
9)   449.  People often lose their equilibrium when they hear about danger, and fearing one danger they evoke ten others.  But with experience people will learn that danger, first of all, must be faced with equilibrium.  When travelers are warned about danger only a few accept the warning intelligently.  The timid traveler will enumerate all the possible dangers and conjure up insurmountable difficulties, while the true warrior will collect his strength to overcome the obstacles.  He knows that danger can appear from below, from above and from every side, but this does not frighten him.  On the contrary the intensification of his forces fills him with joy.
