3) 76. It must not be thought that we are traveling on a luxury train--we are walking over an abyss on a plank. Tufts torn from the aura leave it like the riddled wings of an eagle. It must be remembered that we ascend the walls without any cover.

215. An alien teaching insists upon manifestation of subservience, but the community is so saturated with possibilities that the One Hierarchy will be the step of knowledge. No one points at the hierarch, but those who listen and realize thus recognize this step.
261. In the life of every association there may occur a situation wherein development in one certain direction may bring harmful results. Then the guiding leader must find a path of new tasks broad enough to absorb friction. Let us not call the friction rivalry or worse names. In dangerous straits ships go in single file; likewise in the development of the community there may be need to disconnect the movement of participants. Instead of possible harm there may result an acquirement of new domains. Manifestation of diversity of tasks is indispensable, otherwise the forces of growing consciousnesses will collide. It depends upon the leader to avoid turning useful forces into a jar of scorpions. Fortunately there are so many current tasks that it is not difficult to direct the forces to an urgent problem. 4) 295. Let us give attention to the rhythm of the given Teachings. It can be seen how perception alternates with affirmation; thus the time has arrived when accumulations will afford a knowledge of the foundations of life. Soon one will already be able to commit cosmic paths to the hands of scientists, but it is the more necessary to affirm ardor toward the general good. It is necessary, especially now, to concur on how to live and to direct oneself into the future; when the entire position of mankind undergoes unprecedented danger it is necessary to weave the design outside of expected directions. One can find within oneself fiery forces to forbid disparagement and reduction into the customary of the true panacea of existence. It can be noticed how for some Infinity itself ceases to be dreaded, how Hierarchy becomes the thread of ascent.
385. Usually human misfortunes arise in proportion to the delay caused by attention to passing jolts which it is necessary to avoid. Every leader strives not to be delayed.
399. the contemporary perilous state of things has been created by the perverted thinking of the brain. Therefore let us turn to the heart once again as to our judge and leader. Whoever shall aid his near ones to find the path of the heart shall also find his own perfection.
562. When We ask you to propel all forces in one direction it means that you must be as taut as a bow. One should know how to live in readiness, and such a quality also demands great training. But do not attempt to use this heart energy for revenge--this is inadmissible.
585. The small in spirit are constantly fearful of battle, or more correctly of that state which We call battle. But no other word will express that state of inner struggle and success as battle does. Thus one can also find a place for the adversary as a whetstone for sharpening one's sword.
595. The flaming heart can sense where is contained true correlation or mutual supplementations. Such requirements should be demanded of every leader--he must have a heart open to heaven and to earth. Let us also affirm ourselves in the thought that we shall establish friendly relations with all people. One of the conditions of existence is sincerity, or to use another word, heartiness. If this foundation is not sufficiently developed, one can strengthen it by turning to the heart. -M: Heart 1932
