yet by the power of transmutation

58.  Feelings can solve the most complicated problems of a country, but the inviolability of the individual and his dignity must be protected.  Let us not be consoled by the so-called impartiality of the courts, where dignity is trampled by crude arbitrariness.  It is easy to talk about sadism, but it is terrible to see that this inconceivable madness is not stopped.

   Let us recognize that through the power of the Holy Spirit and through the employment of thought and feeling in accordance with divine principles man is able to sweep aside the imperfection of centuries and to set at naught the misqualified energies which were never of God’s creation.

  “The power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” is wondrous to behold.  When the sincere seeker begins to wield this power to cut himself free from those limiting conditions which he has created in the blindness of ignorance it is a sign from God that he might be given a more than ordinary measure of assistance by the spiritual intelligences whom God has appointed to dispense justice to mankind.  “Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord:  though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson they shall be as wool.”

  The idea embodied in this promise of the Law is that although the threads of the garment of mankind’s subconscious be dyed as deep as scarlet from the energy of mortal miscreation--yet by the power of transmutation the light of God that never fails will bleach these threads and purify the consciousness until they are made whiter than mankind could ever imagine in their imperfect state.  Then mankind will behold the radiant perfection of Being outpictured as the seamless garment of the living Christ daily enfolding them with a greater radiance so that they may take their place in the universal scheme as just men made perfect by love.

  In the past many among mankind have sought to develop their spiritual powers long before they developed their spiritual wisdom.  When people do this it becomes necessary for the Karmic Lords to fling them back upon the shores of life until such a time as they are able to follow the prescribed path.
