238. To sever the ties, to weigh Our forces on the balance, to cut yourself off from access to Us is dangerous. The approach to Light is a serious matter. Hostile powers surround each of your actions; as soon as morning consciousness succumbs to twilight then can the wings of darkness touch you. Darkness may steal unawares upon those who stray. It is easy to miss one's footing in the mountains. It is better not to reject the guiding hand than to wait anxiously for the rescuer's lantern. Grateful even for a dog's bark are the lost ones.

II, iv, 18. Ignorance may conceal a malady, but it is better to consume it with the fire of life--not by an artificial, depleting stimulant but by using the life force to restore the balance.
III, iii, 9. in a popular application the fire of knowledge will begin to shine. The chief necessity is to bring into balance the forces of visible nature and the power of the invisible sources. -Leaves of Morya's Garden 1925

195. Again we come to the need for balance, called by Our Teacher the golden mean which may also be seen as the fullness of understanding.
286. Success in life can be found both by those who with particular clarity understand the essential nature of things and also by those who have accepted their own very distorted perception of things. The difference lies only in the consequences. Those who have realized the nature of things are not attached to them, but the distorters are slaves to them. -M: Agni Yoga 1929

344. those who seek the New World must strive to the confirmation of the decree of Hierarchy which directs through the appointed Hierarchy. Only thus can balance be established in the world. Only a flamingly guiding heart will manifest salvation. -M: Hierarchy 1931

10. We pay attention to the transmuter of prana, to the lungs which transmit the essence to the heart as the affirmation of world balance….As a help to the violated balance a new form of fine body is given.
100. We strive further as soon as We see understanding. We call a lazy person the violator of the Law of Life.
190. an enlightened and self-sacrificing indignation creates the most precious, ruby-like armor. Thus only through correct direction of finer energy is poison replaced by a treasure. But where is the judge of self-abnegation? Certainly it is the heart; and not the heart as such but precisely the heart facing Infinity.
202 one can marvel at the precision of the scale of karma. There is nothing that can reproach this great balance. The corroboration of the tension of the cups of the scale depends upon the heart; it can overflow, uplift and it can evaluate the worth of accumulations. Thus let people vigilantly watch their own vindication which lies in the heart.
226. Help each one to maintain the balance. The dark ones use all means in order that their front may pierce Our lines. We shall not tire of drawing your attention to the extent to which vigilance is needed in small details; absorb the manner in which one must listen and scrutinize.
260. The silver thread (of higher contact) is founded upon the law of concatenation (i.e., a group of things linked together or occurring together in a way that produces a particular result or effect), but if someone does not refrain from hasty fluctuations, he usually cannot hold the link.
261. Whoever is in the wrong will not stand fast against balance, hence the stroke of the sword must be within the Law. Thus let us understand the heart as the focus of physical laws and highest laws as well.
573. The correct measure of giving is the criterion of love and responsibility. To give too little is contrary to love, but it is no better to give too much….No (earthly) logic will safeguard the giving one from excess, but the heart knows this heavenly balance. -M: Heart 1932

183. The bloody sacrifices to Moloch appear merciful compared with the murders that are now taking place! How many times must We stress these words! How can people contemplate truths when their minds are filled with a craving for murder? This too was said by the Thinker, and because of these words he was persecuted and sold into slavery. -Morya: Supermundane 1, 1938
