advanced radar debuts in Ukraine

10-13-17    Ukroboronprom presented state-of-the-art 3D radar able to follow 500 targets simultaneously.

KP NPK Iskra Company, a part of Ukroboronprom state defense concern, has developed 80K6T 3D radar station for target handoff to anti-aircraft defenses.
This radar will allow the military to see all air objects up to 500 km far, up to 40 km high, Censor.NETreports citing Ukroboronprom press office.

The developing company says the 80K6T 3D radar station is able to follow up to 500 targets simultaneously, including tactical and short range attack missiles and small-sized and cruise missiles.

"The main feature of the 80K6T is the digital phased active lattice, which allows detecting and tracking targets with high resolution.  Only one station simultaneously measures the position of the target at three coordinates: range, azimuth and altitude, ie, a 3D model is created," Ukroboronprom said in a statement.

The developers of the radar also stress its reliability.  According to them, even when several amplification modules fail, it will not turn the radar off.   https://en.censor.net.ua/photo_news/459157/ukroboronprom_presented_stateoftheart_3d_radar_able_to_follow_500_targets_simultaneously_photos
