404. First of all the Teaching is never sold; that is a most ancient law. The Teaching offers perfection as the goal; without this it would have no future. The Teaching pays no attention to personal comfort, otherwise it would be egoism. The Teaching advocates the beautifying of existence which otherwise would be submerged in ugliness. The Teaching is always self-denying because it knows the true meaning of the common good. The Teaching reveres knowledge, otherwise it would be darkness. The Teaching is manifested in life not through invented ceremonies but on the basis of experience. 319. Consciousness and understanding of the world is tautened by the lever of spirit. Each spirit creates his own world, and the beauty or ugliness of the created world depends upon the quality of consciousness. 6. Doubt is the destruction of quality, doubt is the tomb of the heart. Doubt is the source of ugliness.
578. Correlating karmic conditions with the entrusting of missions can be compared to walking a tightrope, but this rope has to be woven out of the most diverse material. How much attention is needed in order to combine threads according to color and rhythm! For with one unrestrained exclamation one can arrest an extended work, hence I advise special caution. There exists a saying about collecting all ropes for the journey. In an hour of tension you do not know which thread will be of use. Therefore keep every possibility ready without judging whether it is small or great. For the Teacher it is always of value to have definite assurance that each brief command of his will be understood and fulfilled. 28. All achievements and heroic deeds are essentially fiery actions. The higher energy transports people across the precipice….We advise not to turn the Fire of benefaction into the flame of destruction. Besides personal harm the flame of destruction contaminates the surrounding space. Moreover a flame of evil is aroused by decomposing vortices of the lower strata….Beneficent Fires are borne high up by vortexes of far-off worlds.
139. Where there is aspiration there are no confused dreams and all details are clearly impressed. But what danger there is if the striving is base or trivial!

319. Do not permit the gray dragon to triumph. It is not really strong, and its repulsiveness is only in ugliness of habit. Where filth and ugliness have been eliminated the gray dragon cannot exist. Thus conquest of daily routine is reverence of the higher world.

Much is being spoken about good deeds, but they must be truly good; let people search the depths of their hearts as to when they have been good. No mask can conceal the ugliness of a skeleton of falsehood. Let us not condemn, for each one (thinking/doing/aligning with evil) has already condemned himself.

300. Please understand that the spirals of evolution can be accelerated only if senseless human opposition ceases. People do not always know how to create, but they do indeed know how to oppose--and ugliness, discord and calamities come into being.
