1) II, v, 9. Fire singes imperfect thoughts. How else to fill the cradle of authentic achievements?
III, v, 13. Two signs of the authenticity of the Teaching are: first, striving for the commonweal; second, acceptance of all previous Teachings which are congruous with the first sign. It must be noted that the primary form of a Teaching does not contain negative postulates. But superstitious followers begin to fence in the Covenants with negations, obstructing the good. There results the ruinous formula: "Our creed is the best," or "We are the true believers; all others are infidels.” From this point it is a single step to the Crusades, to the Inquisition and to seas of blood in the name of Those Who condemned killing. There is no worse occupation than forcible imposition of one's creed. -Leaves of Morya's Garden 1925

2) 94. I say more: errors in the books fare equal to a grievous crime. Falsehood in books must be prosecuted as a grave calumny. The falsehood of an orator is prosecuted according to the number of his listeners. The falsehood of an author should be prosecuted according to the number of copies sold of his book. To fill people's libraries with falsehood is a grave offense. It is necessary to perceive the true intent of the author in order to estimate the quality of his errors. Ignorance will be the worst basis; fear and meanness occupy the next place. None of these qualities are befitting the Community. To accomplish their removal in the new construction is a necessity. Prohibitory measures as usual are not suitable; but a discovered error must be removed from the book. The necessity of such removal, and the reprinting of the book, will bring the author to his senses. Every citizen has the right to prove an error. Indeed one should not impede new views and structures; but incorrect data must not bring one into error, because knowledge is the armor of the Community and the defense of knowledge is the duty of all the members. 162. Not hypocritical stammering before the method of a recognized authority, but the struggle and burning in quest of reality.
194. You yourselves know what missions mean. Authenticity creates power, authenticity does not fear. Following authenticity one may be assured as to timeliness of decision and amplitude of means.
206. Indeed the battle is against the evident. Reality is not the obvious. Evidence presented by outward signs does not represent actuality. The old teaching of positivism replaced authenticity with evidence, and for them there is only one excuse--they had no microscopes nor telescopes, neither downward nor upward. But the inquiring mind is not concerned with conventional evidence--it wants reality in the setting of cosmic laws. It understands that the pearl is invisible in the depths and that layers of air can conceal a flock of eagles. -M: Community 1926

3) 137. The benign action of the balm itself is greatly augmented by invoked finer energy. Therefore various forms of skin disease and disintegration of matter are subject to this action. Of course when clarity of consciousness is added the result is increased still more.

4) 243. One must not approach Fire with covetous aims. A simple prayer about perfectionment opens the best gates. Likewise a simple truthful attitude assists in cognizing the actual rhythms of the cosmos. It is easy to substitute greed for cosmic rhythm, but the bond with Hierarchy leads to realization of truth. Experience in the beautiful keeps one within the bounds of authenticity….Only acuteness of observation helps to affirm beauty. It is a mistake to think that transitory methods of art can create a single basis for judgment. Actually only the power of observation, which nourishes the third eye, provides a firm foundation for creativeness that is suitable also in the subtle world. -M: Fiery World 1933

5) 551. Deep study of the various epochs of cognition of psychic energy shows the most contradictory opinions. Do not go astray in such labyrinths of human thinking! These manifested errors resulted merely from insufficient scientific experiments. -M: Aum 1936

6) 69. A poor imagination often belittles that which it wishes to glorify.
204. Each revelation confirms the fact that truth lives on and must be perceived…. There exists an order of truths which meets with special opposition. It is not difficult to understand who is against the concept of Brotherhood. These creatures know perfectly well about the existence of the Brotherhood, and they tremble lest this knowledge reach the people. But all is accomplished in due time.
256. We have already said that all questions concerning inner consciousness must be severely tested, and if out of a hundred dubious and obscure communications, one will prove to be authentic this will already be a success. Thus let us seek truth.
410. It is inadmissible that people should respect a primitive apparatus more than the great energy contained within themselves. Do not think that an understanding of the forces concealed in man has been sufficiently strongly established. There is far too little respect for such forces among illiterate people. They are ready to hurl themselves into the dark abyss of so-called spiritualism, but they do not wish to reflect about the power contained in thoughts. The science of thought cannot be developed if people do not pay attention to it. -M: Brotherhood 1937

7) 54. Our Voices are recognized by their timbre, and a person close to Us will not mistake them. But besides the recognition of the sound there also exists the feeling of authenticity. The broadened consciousness can never be deceived by this feeling. A child senses unerringly the steps of its father and mother. How much more deeply does the heart feel the sendings of the Teacher.
116. Often one may hear narratives about the start or abolishment of the Brotherhood….People regard as a beautiful tale the remnants of indications about the Brotherhood. Many disputes, many misunderstandings are caused by the details about the structure of the earthly Brotherhood. Most often it is regarded in general as non-existent. It may be noticed that people fall into particular irritation in discussing the structure of the Brotherhood. Especially suspicious are people who do not admit the existence of anything higher than their imagination; they forget that the imagination is an accumulation of actuality. Hence they cannot admit that there is anything above and beyond their own conception of life. -M: Supermundane 1, 1938

8) 350. man should not become a sower of destructive forces. Let everyone think about creating good. When people think scientifically they will understand the laws of ethics.
