“Nothing can arrest the disintegration of inhuman rule” -Khokhlov

“Nothing can arrest the disintegration of inhuman rule,” wrote Khokhlov in his 1957 memoir.  “The very qualities that communism has attempted to read out of existence—conscience, honor, loyalty to God’s commandments—are making for its collapse.  In the final analysis, these elements will prove stronger than the rational ‘material’ forces.”…
Nikolai Evgenievich Khokhlov, a captain in the Soviet Union’s newly minted security force, the KGB; well, a former captain.  Khokhlov had arrived in Germany tasked with assassinating the leader of an anticommunist organization.  Instead he defected, tipping off the target and surrendering himself to U.S. agents.

Khokhlov’s book was published the same year the KGB made an attempt on his life, 1957.

13.   If people justifiably protect themselves against thieves and murderers, so much the more should they guard against the assassins of the spirit.  One should appraise their strength in order to better withstand them.  Ur. fearlessly visited the dark ones.  She saw many of different grades, and in her valor she addressed them.  Verily there exists such a degree of courage that even the power of darkness is silenced.  True, it is impossible to ever convince the dark ones, but one may paralyze them and considerably weaken them.     -Morya:  Fiery World 1934
