Rhythm is the progenitor of cooperation.

Leaves of Morya's Garden 1924
40.  The ability to overcome proves the strength of your spirit.
289.  And each morning brings us closer to the Sun. And happy are they who minded not the day and who seized the pearl of the Spirit from the stars. This pearl loses not its luster; and you, poor ones, where will you find a treasure more enduring?  Let us appraise values, but let us not insist on money as the measure.

Leaves of Morya's Garden 1925               3.5.17.  You may ask: "How should one conduct oneself so as not to besmirch the chosen portion?"  I can give this advice:  instead of a particle, accept the entire chalice of the common good.  This will shield you against all impurities.

Community 1926
139.  One should expel all words of negation…. Ignorance is the mother of negation.  Expelling negation, the Teaching enslaves no one.  The denier is already a slaveholder, for he does not wish to let his interlocutor go free from his circle.
154.  Poor is the leader who conceals real danger.  It can be conquered only with the help of complete knowledge.
167.  One must learn to unite the most unexpected groups and then quickly change their combinations.
217.  There are two kinds of skepticism, one benevolent as in him who seeks confirmation, the other faint-hearted as in a proprietor resisting innovations. The manifestation of the second is customary in circles of poor education.  Never begin a dispute with people of this kind.  Propose to them to read and to add to their education.

Agni Yoga 1929     257.  The future is constructed by lightning-bolts of realization.  The power of these great sparks depends upon the strength of the counterforce.
406.  Poor is the consciousness that has no control over passing emotions.  Invulnerability is our shield.  Each speck of fear is a target for an enemy's arrow.  After washing away these shameful specks we become as invulnerable as are the far-off worlds….The all-penetrating Fire when realized endows one with supremely pure strength and replenishes the source of renewal.

Infinity 2, 1930
205.  The chain of causes and effects must be discerned in all cosmic labor. This chain is boundless in all dimensions.
333.  Creativeness depends upon the combination of energies.  The future also is thus affirmed.

Heart 1932
5.   How much of the beautiful is destroyed owing to ignoring of the temple--the heart!  But let us irresistibly strive to a realization of heartfelt warmth, and let us begin to feel ourselves as the bearers of the temple.  Thus one can cross the threshold of the new world.  How poor in spirit are those who believe that the new world is not for them!
117.  Intolerance is a sign of ignobility of spirit.  Intolerance contains embryos of the most evil acts. There is no place for the manifestation of the growth of the spirit where intolerance breeds.  The heart is unlimited which indicates how poor a heart must be in order to deprive itself of Infinity!  It is necessary to uproot every means that can lead to the idol of intolerance.  Mankind has invented various obstacles to ascent.  The dark forces are trying by all means to restrain evolution.
47.  Multitudes of thoughtless actions remain at the surface of existence, undifferentiable from actions of the animal world.
223.  "Know how to catch the smallest devil by the tail and he will reveal the hiding place of his superior”--this ancient Chinese proverb points out the significance of the smallest details in revealing the most important.  Verily caution about details will be the best key to great achievement.  People erroneously believe that details are insignificant on the path of ascent.  Even the most beautiful heroic deeds rested upon details which were foreseen in advance.  How attentively does he who follows the Teacher notice all stones!  Nothing external will be overlooked by him.  The Chinese proverb also has a different meaning:  "The greatest criminal is detected best by the smallest detail of his actions."
313.  Affirmation of heart is especially needed now, otherwise the ignorant heart will not be able to withstand the hurricane of the confusion of the elements.  Therefore think of the heart as the basic principle which connects you with distant worlds.  It must be realized what actually burdens the heart most of all.  Not special events burden the heart so much as succession of small specks of daily dust.
509.  The feeling of great service is unlimited; it must fill the heart which is forever inexhaustible.  The sacred tremor should not become daily gruel.  The best Teachings turned into soulless husks when the tremor left them.

Fiery World 1933
135.  To give, to assist and even to guide without infringing upon the personal--this is a difficult task.  Each one must confront this solution.  Thought-creativeness, devoid of self, provides the way out of these labyrinths.  Kindness, cordiality and cooperation likewise help, but the fog of unsteadiness is a particularly poor guide.
433.  How is it possible to ascertain the verity of the Teaching?  A multitude of good words may cover up something mediocre; but truth, we know, does not fear examination.  On the contrary when observed truth draws nearer and shines forth.  Therefore each investigator of the Teaching may be advised "Approach with all force; observe by thorough measures; investigate by all methods; cognize with all daring; reveal indefatigability, and be aflame with each discovery of truth."  The Teaching cannot be fallible.  It cannot deviate from the paths of usefulness and good.  One should not believe only in assertions.  Faith is realization of truth tempered in the fire of the heart.  The Teaching is infinite, otherwise the very concept of Infinity would not exist.  One should strive toward truth. Truth does not reject--it directs.  In the Teaching there can be no distorted concepts.  Regard the path of the Teaching as the affirmation of that which is beyond doubt. One should not approach truth along a meandering path. One must proceed by testing each word, each statement and each covenant.  If the Teaching is a true one, each step to it will be enlightening and broadening.  Disparagement, denial, abasement are poor guides!  More than once you will hear from a speaker the conceited remark that the only correct Teaching is the one known to him.  It is then good to remind the conceited one about the grandeur of Infinity, of millions of years of life on Earth, of  billions of worlds--let him meditate upon the vastness of truth and the soundness of its fitting recognition.  One could agree with the method of skepticism if only something would result from it.  As a rule it corrodes the creative principle.  An indefatigable spirit is needed to advance along a constant progression.  Only such an expansion and containment will bring real tolerance toward anything that is futile, this is learned through relativism.  Thus say to him who has doubts about the Teaching: "Test it, be aflame in your heart and broaden your spirit!"
472.  The true master develops great acuteness and resourcefulness in himself.  The blessed spell of his craft frees the master-worker from discouragement. Even night does not bring darkness for the master but only a variety of forms of the one fire.  No one can entice a master toward aimless speculations because he knows the inexhaustibility of the essence of being.  In the name of this unity the master gathers each blossom and constructs an eternal harmony.  He regrets the waste of any material.  But people far from mastery lose the best treasures. They repeat the best prayers and invocations, but these broken and unrealized rhythms are carried away like dust.  The fragments of knowledge are turned into the dust of a dead desert.  The human heart knows about fire, but reason tries to obscure this evident wisdom….People do not deny themselves a single opportunity for negation.  They are ready to extinguish all fires around them only to proclaim that there is no Fire within them.
522.  Among the privileges of the bodhisattvas, solicitude for everything that exists is the gem of their crown.  Likewise solicitude should be welcomed as the kindling of Fire.  Not petty reflections but a most solicitous thought strikes sparks of light from the heart.  It is unwise to avoid cares, for one must make haste with spiritual fires.  Those who fear cares reveal but meager accumulations.  The experienced wayfarer says "Burden me with care when I enter the Beautiful Garden."  Man, who has received the gift of thinking, has accepted not the least of these responsibilities.  It has been said that the smile of a rich man is of slight value, but the poor man who has retained his smile will become the companion of God.  So does folk understanding value a smile amidst cares.
557.  All killing is contrary to fiery nature.  Everyone who ponders about the fiery world not only should not kill but is obligated to prevent shedding of blood.  He must understand that bloodshed not only creates confusion in certain strata of the subtle world but is a violation of earthly nature….Destruction of earthly enemies by murder means creation of a powerful enemy in the subtle world.

Fiery World 1934
17.  Rhythm is the progenitor of cooperation.  From hoary antiquity people have understood the significance of rhythmic choirs, of musical movements; thus has consciousness accumulated knowledge about the impelling force of collective labor.  People knew long ago that rhythm kindled collective fires and helped in avoiding irritation and disunity….Lack of rhythm is disunity, but crude rhythm is stupor.  Thus only a fiery consciousness will prompt refinement of rhythm.  One may ponder over many things, but we shall always return to fiery understanding.  The abode of Agni is opened not by reasoning but by harmony of rhythm.  Only true rhythm carries us forward and preserves us from delay.  He will not retreat who has begun to advance in fiery rhythm.  Precisely this rhythm saves one from sorrowful ponderings and leads one forward in spirit.
152.  No striving is of assistance if it is not protected by love.  Precisely fire of love in its chemism is closest of all to the fiery realm.  Thus even in difficult days let us generate the currents of love. Rarely do people understand that love is actually a fiery principle.  Usually people suppress the most salutary qualities of love.  Precisely by these qualities does man most easily overcome manifestations of darkness.
178.  History sets forth many instances of non-acceptance of the most urgent counsels.  Not without reason was attentiveness so developed in antiquity….Nowadays not many understand the significance of vigilance; for others guidance is required in the sharpest repeated instructions….There have been whole epochs when subtle understanding was strengthened and sharpened, but later a bloody mist condensed anew and refined perceptions became coarse.

Fiery World 1935
67.  But how helpless people are when they lead a form of life isolated from cosmic currents!  Indeed life is transformed when the spirit consciously ascends, understanding the leading principle--Hierarchy.  Only when perception of a guiding Hierarchy is consciously affirmed will humanity realize its true role in cosmos.  Each link is connected with the next link leading upward.  How poor is humanity in whose consciousness the concept of  great cosmic laws is not affirmed!  Only creativeness of the Spirit manifest will bring the worlds closer together.
75.  The manifestation of a sacred guardian is life's destiny….The hero of the Spirit has known a higher protector, therefore he has given strength to others.  Higher law has directed him to the rudder, and visibly or invisibly he has become a fiery hero.  Thus has proceeded the mighty "Lion of the Desert."
603.  Each man has three basic currents of thought.  A superficial one--from flesh connected with muscular reflections, obvious in  external life.  The second already concerns the heart and contributes to improvement and progress in subtle feelings.  And finally in the depths of consciousness is being conceived in the achievement of self-renunciation-- here the fiery realm will be near.  Each man can touch all worlds; even in the routine of his everyday life he can choose the type of thinking he desires.  In order to harken to the voice of the heart it is not necessary to be poor or rich, lofty or lowly, it is not even necessary to be very learned.
371.  Measurement of degrees of consciousness over the extent of the last centuries places man now near the zero point.  And so many gates have been opened before the horizon of humanity!  So many beacons have been placed everywhere.

AUM 1936
442.  It is time to abandon the error that a hundred palaces make the state.  It is time to understand and to look into the dwellings of the poor; only there is it possible to form an opinion about the true situation of a people.
484.  Do not drive any one away if he wishes to study energy with a purely scientific aim.  Only ascertain that the goal should not prove to be pseudo-scientific.  A scientific task is based on tolerant acceptance, but the pseudo-scientific is full of negation.  Likewise do not burden investigators with preconceived methods.  Each investigator has the right to his own path.  Even if his path be a complicated one, he may discover an unexpected new detail.  Poor is the method of pedagogues who ridicule each attempt at an original solution of a problem.  Quests of new approaches of truth should be welcomed.  If one's conviction is so steadfast that truth is one, there can be no fear that some other truth will be found.
490.  Higher qualities of Guidance are responsiveness, keen-sightedness and containment. Poor is the Guide who is fixed upon one command! Higher guidance is both invisible and inaudible, it is a special science to give not less nor more, taking into consideration the planetary conditions.

Brotherhood 1937
75.  If right action takes place, then good results from it.  But if during the most brilliant talk about the good poor action is performed, then only harm will be created.
327.  Lightnings of thought also will be mere phantoms for the majority.  Yet many animals are called electrical because they preserve within themselves a considerable store of energy; and similarly certain people can be called electrical.  Is it too difficult to imagine that their thought-energy can be visible as a brilliant flash, especially when a crossing of currents may be taking place?  One should know how to keep one's eyes open.  One must take the trouble to observe, otherwise many remarkable manifestations will pass unnoticed.
351.  Living in emptiness people become irresponsible, yet any irresponsibility is falsehood. Life in falsehood is a cringing before darkness.

Supermundane 1, 1938
43.  In all her many lives Urusvati strove to the heights.  Each earthly mountain reminded her of our Heights.  Every achievement indicated the paths to Us.
46.  We welcome the stage of burning evenly because We can cooperate with it.
63.  Every manifestation is the result of active thought.  Even if a manifestation is undergoing involution, somewhere in it is concealed a spark of the highest energy.  People will usually reject something completely even if only one part is not understood by them.
162.   Indeed the Teacher did not want to see uniform poverty.  He used to emphasize that even people of small means should cultivate pure joy without envy of wealthy neighbors.  Indeed it is the rich who are sometimes most in need of help.
…….................................
Supermundane 2, 1938
250.   People think that artificial profundity is stronger than a swift thought, not realizing that lightning thought can be evidence of highest influence.
301.  When the Thinker was warned that pilgrims might be vagrants he whispered "Who knows, they may be from Beyond."  When their poor attire was pointed out to him he smiled and said "Pilgrims are not used to luxury."  And when he was told that true heroes do not come from the lower classes, He became indignant and pointed out that the time would come when the common people would produce great things.
426.  People may listen to the most exalted words yet not apply them in life.  When we speak about upbringing, education in the perception of beauty is the most important aspect.  Man must belong to Beauty!  He can perceive it in every sunbeam, he can accept it in the harmony of sounds.  Poverty is no obstacle, for cosmos is open equally to poor and rich.
