Officer Sheskey shot Blake near Lake Michigan

8-24    Blake is still alive but in critical condition in the ICU in Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee….people took to the streets and began to protest in front of the Kenosha Police Department. The Kenosha SWAT than shot tear gas and rubber bullets at the protesters who than reacted and began to throw rocks (bricks) at officers.  The protesters set small fires to the Kenosha County Courthouse and broke most of the windows including the windows at the police department.  Multiple Kenosha garbage trucks used to block streets to the Courthouse were set on fire or ignited by police teargas canisters and the windows were smashed.  The Car Source dealership suffered a total loss after all the used vehicles in the parking lot were set on fire.
Officer Sheskey was sworn in as a Kenosha police officer on April 1, 2013.     https://hispanicnewsnetwork.wordpress.com/2020/08/24/jacob-blake-shot-multiple-times-in-the-back-by-kenosha-police-officer-rusten-t-sheskey-ignites-unrest/

8-24-20   Chaos erupted in Kenosha, a town of some 100,000 on Lake Michigan south of Milwaukee, late Sunday after police officers shot (at 5 p.m. unarmed black 7 times in the back who walked to and was getting into his car with his 3 children inside) Jacob Blake while responding to a 911 call.  (Videos at youtube.)
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) announced that 125 members will be in the city by Monday night “to help protect critical infrastructure and assist in maintaining public safety and the ability of individuals to peacefully protest.”
“This was not an accident.  This wasn’t bad police work.  This felt like some sort of vendetta being taken out on a member of our community,” Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, a Democrat, said during a virtual briefing.  He claimed that Blake was “trying to de-escalate” the situation. …
According to court records, Blake had an arrest warrant issued last month for trespassing, third-degree sexual assault, and disorderly conduct.   https://www.theepochtimes.com/wisconsin-governor-sending-national-guard-to-kenosha_3473789.html

Jacob Blake was listed in serious condition, the officers were placed on administrative leave, and the city declared an emergency curfew….
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers called for greater police accountability:
“While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country,” Evers said in a statement.  “We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity and accountability for Black lives in our country.”  Evers called this (125-man Nat. Guard contingent) “a limited mobilization” aimed at helping local first responders “protect critical infrastructure, such as utilities and fire stations.”
Biden said:  “These shots pierce the soul of our nation.”
According to Crump, Blake was “simply trying to do the right thing by intervening in a domestic incident,” and he did not elaborate on what that entailed.  “It’s a miracle he’s still alive,” Crump said.
Police have not commented on what led to the shooting.  By Monday afternoon, nearly a full day after the shooting, public officials had only released scant details of what had happened, even as video footage from the incident had spread widely and drawn national scrutiny.
Stella London, who lives in the area, and her daughters said Monday that they think Blake was breaking up a fight between two women over a scratch on one of their cars and police just “assumed” he was a problem.  “It all came from a scratched vehicle. It’s just so sad,” said Sheila Winters, 65.
Blake was attending his 3-year-old son’s birthday party on the lawn of his apartment building, according to Marie, a 23-year-old who said she watched what happened and spoke on the condition that her last name not be used.
At some point, Marie said, an argument began between two women.  When a police officer approached, Blake was standing near the car in the street and one of the women directed police toward him, Marie said.
The officer “didn’t ask questions, he just grabbed” Blake, Marie said, and tried to use a Taser to stun him, which did not work.  Then Blake walked to the front of the car, she said, and was shot by police.
After the shooting, Marie said, the women who were arguing blamed each other for the police arriving.  “He was a cool neighbor,” Marie said of Blake.  “He was polite.  Even if he had a problem with you.”  https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/08/23/kenosha-police-shooting-video-wisconsin/?hpid=hp_hp-top-table-low_mm-kenosha-police-shooting-1050pm%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans

8-23-20  “The Government of Iraq, Gulf Cooperation Council, and the United States look forward to increased close economic and energy cooperation between the United States, Iraq, and the GCC countries, as a basis for peace, development, and prosperity in the region,” the State Department said in the statement.
In a recent development UAE has offered to provide Iraq with electricity for more than $1 per kilowatt, which Iraq currently imports at more than $5 from Iran, according to Maan Habib, a news anchor with AlhurraIraq, an Iraqi TV channel.  https://www.theepochtimes.com/connecting-iraq-with-gulf-electric-grids-seeks-to-change-middle-east-politics_3470426.html
