Now some of the students responded to this teaching very well, and they have not since been guilty to any great extent of violation of the great Law. Those who fall below the level of decent thought are dissolving their vital energies in a maelstrom of base doubt and fear. At this point I desire to remind you that the the human tendency toward sympathy can become a maelstrom of destructivity which the powers of darkness use to draw men’s energies downward. Empathies between people are such that individuals find it easy to picture themselves in almost any type of situation. When they read or hear of the unfortunate plights of others they feel dreadfully sorry for them because they imagine how it would be if they, too, were to become involved in such a situation. Some even feel that their grief for another person may be an assistance to him. Perish the thought! Now the balm of truth must be applied to this whole matter, and in mercy’s name we must strip it of its glamour.

I point out to you now, beloved ones, that the weaving of the garment of light enables mankind to inherit that spiritual estate of God Self-consciousness…. And you will recognize that time is given to you in order that you might place your attention upon the light, because within the light is your freedom, and it is nowhere else!
Beloved ones, it is time, high time and past time that the mankind of Earth understand the need to place their attention upon the hreat God-Source, the source of their divinity. Too long has their consciousness been scattered and dissipated. It is not uncomfortable, beloved ones, to place your attention upon your source. I think if you were to analyze the vibratory action of your bodies you would soon find that it is far less comfortable to vibrate within the human octave.
Those of us who descend to address you as I am doing this evening well understand this. For we come into an atmosphere of sincere chelas, and yet we find certain densities operative there which at times make it somewhat uncomfortable for us to speak to you with that ease and freedom in our feelings which we would have. This in no way means that we are limited. It means that the molasseslike quality of human thought resists transmutation due to error’s tenacity.
Hence, beloved ones, you ought to cherish and prefer the higher vibratory actions as we do. And I am certain that many of you in your hearts have long cherished the higher vibratory action of our spheres of light.
Pause now to consider, pause now to think upon your own freedom. Mankind have been busying themselves about many things. ,,,
When that great demonstration was made by the Christ as he stood upon Bethany’s hill, his physical form became so charged with light and radiance of God that it could no longer be held by the magnetism of Earth, and therefore it rose into the atmosphere. Upon that occasion the words spoken by one of the heavenly host were “This same Jesus whom ye saw go into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go.
I tell you, beloved ones, that those of us who are ascended beings do come “in like manner” and manifest in many a home and fireside. We have appeared to some in dreams, to some in visions and to some tangibly. But, beloved ones, the important truth to remember is that our essence is omnipresent. You have but to invoke us, to speak our name, to utter it within the secret recesses of your mind and we are there.
“I am here and I am there” is the law of every ascended being. This law can be demonstrated by you, beloved ones. If you will but drink of our immortal consciousness, of the cup of liquid light representative of that eternal consciousness, you will find a spiritual expansion taking place within your worlds which is freedom!
Beloved ones, I ask you to think now, what is freedom? What is freedom? Is freedom human bondage?
I think not. I think freedom is God. Freedom is good. And freedom enfolds every heart.
Precious ones, as I step down the radiance of my manifestation for a moment I desire you to recognize that I did not come here alone. [30-second pause]
The beloved angel who spoke the words “This same Jesus whom ye saw ascend...” is with me now. [8-second pause] It is his desire, on behalf of the Cosmic Christ, to pour out his radiation into the forcefield builded by the energies of songs and decrees of the precious students who are here. I ask you therefore to maintain a period of silence for about one minute in order that you may absorb the energies and radiance of this magnificent angel of his Presence. [71-second pause]
I turn now to the political situation of the world with the desire to express great gratitude to the students everywhere for the decrees which they have offered so magnificently on behalf of the Cuban and Indian situations. Beloved ones, you do not know, and I do not believe, that you will be able until you have made your ascension to fully perceive the great use to which we put energies of the students offered on behalf of the mankind of Earth to protect them from frightful consequences of a political situation seething with such unrest as has never before manifested upon this planet.
Beloved ones, warfare (and I know much about it) is not of necessity always self-evident. Like an iceberg a portion of it is visible to the consciousness of mankind. But a much greater part of the hideousness of warfare is beneath the surface of human consciousness, seething with vicious hate and torment.
Well, beloved ones, the situation and peril which recently faced the people of the Americas and world was unparalleled in the history of mankind. And I speak relative to that portion of the peril which was not visible to mankind. The fact that the tide was turned is a boon to mankind. But we would like to warn everyone of the children of the light to continue to be diligent and to make their applications.
Beloved ones, this statement may seem commonplace, but it is so necessary. But you do not fail to partake of mortal food, many of you eating three times a day; and some more. Well, I do not think then that there is anything wrong in our making the request that you, beloved ones, continue to diligently make application both for yourselves and for the mankind of Earth. Constancy of application produces results that are unparalleled in expression.
You see, beloved ones, you are seeking to express the Divine. And therefore when you seek to express the Infinite you must invoke infinite energies. You cannot invoke impure human energies and then expect to win your freedom. You must invoke from the heart of God the purity that comes from out the Great Central Sun.
The Great Central Sun is a magnet. It is a magnet that lifts and exalts consciousness and draws the consciousness of mankind to itself as a lodestone of power. The thoughts and feelings of the world are a magnet as well, and they detract from the eternal radiance and pull mankind down into a seething maelstrom of despair.
Differentiation, discrimination must be practiced by students who would win their freedom. They must reject the confusion of the mass mind and select the unity of the will of God. This is a process we carried out centuries before we won our ascension.
How many times, beloved ones, do you suppose tempters came to us saying “Go this way,” and we said “No, we will not go.” Then the angel of the Presence, our higher Self, said “Come this way,” and we said, “We will go! This is the way we desire.”
Well, beloved ones, I know in the case of my own lifestream that I made over two million decisions of that nature before I won my ascension. Now this may seem like a great number of decisions. It may seem almost as an infinite number to some of you. But I would like to call to your attention that this refers to many, many embodiments.
So, beloved ones, watch the quality of your decisions. This year watch the quality of each decision. For I tell you, beloved ones, the decisions you yourselves make determine the peace you shall have this year and for quite some time to come. For by your determinations do you shape the course of the future. And the decisions mankind make determine whether the world itself shall know peace. Be comforted then that right decisions can come to you by the discriminating Christ-intelligence of your own immortal being.
Be at peace, beloved ones. You do not always need to consult with others to make your decisions. You can make your decisions directly by attuning with the heart of God. And yet as we have constantly warned, mankind are perfectly justified in seeking knowledge from the outer providing they are willing to go to the inner to make their attunement there and recognize that the balance, the perfection of discrimination is located within the heart of their own mighty I AM Presence.
In the name of heaven, beloved ones, the outer wisdom of the world is not a condition completely separated from God. From whence came this knowledge which mankind cherish so highly? Was it not evolved through the centuries by a process of learning? Is it not mixed like sand and sugar, some of it exceedingly wise and some exceedingly foolish?
You must then seize that which is wise and forsake that which is foolish. This discrimination will produce for you an improved state of consciousness, and an improved state of consciousness will provide a conductor over which our energies may flow into your own world.
Some of you may ponder the method by which I am speaking through this beloved Messenger. Well, beloved ones, I would not place your attention too much upon that. Place your attention upon the light that is pouring down through the top of your own head into your own heart to beat your own heart. This is the source of your freedom. Your freedom does not come, beloved ones, through any other outer power, nor can you obtain freedom through another’s efforts. It comes through your own mighty beloved I AM Presence.
When you come to these meetings in unity and love to receive our radiance and blessing it is an assistance to us and to the beloved Messenger. I would compare it to a mill wheel anchored in the main- stream of power where the water gently slaps the waterwheel and propels it onward. Well, beloved ones, you have to continually expose yourself to the stream of divine consciousness. But you must remember that you as an individual must intentionally journey back to the heart of your own source. And you must do it for yourselves, for another cannot do it for you.
This is one of the greatest mistakes which students often make, the mistake of desiring to find someone else to conduct them directly to the heart of God. This is well and good, beloved ones, insofar as the so-called Guru and disciple relationship is concerned. This is well and good insofar as ascended beings are concerned.
We are willing to render you assistance as we explained to you. We are willing to give you a pat on the back, a friendly helping hand. But, beloved ones, the only way that you can obtain the freedom which we enjoy is to master your own thoughts and feelings, to obtain your own freedom and to achieve your own understanding of the Law!
