Freedom Is the Result of Consecrated Effort and an Immortal Sense of Destiny
Ladies and gentlemen of heaven, I bring to you the outpouring of violet-flame substance from my heart. I call to your attention now that the fulfillment of every ascended master concept is at the door. We do not count or reckon time as some men do, for we know that the compassion of God liveth within the hearts of men and in the fulfillment of the mysteries of God which have been ordained from the foundations of the earth.
The intellectual brilliance of man has been developed from some of the multifaceted rays of divine intelligence. But it is not complementary to the Deity unless it enters into the heart of the completion of the divine ideal. So long as men are content with a pseudo-manifestation of intellect which is not charged with the holy radiation of the Great Central Sun they will exist half-slave and half-free.
When the power of freedom--forged on the great golden anvil of golden hearts that beat and sustain the delight of golden-age minds--casts the mighty power of Liberty’s flame upon the screen of life mankind will express the dawn of the new age.
And the beginnings, the tender beginnings as green shoots, have long risen from the heart of the earth, and the buds have long appeared in view. And now we await the full unfoldment of the flowers of spirituality. And speaking of the flowers I remind you of the Christ and the words, “Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin. And yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.”
As I gaze upon your consciousness tonight and behold the action of beloved Mother Mary, consort and queen of heaven’s purposes, I realize that she has breathed into the lily-flame of your hearts some of the sweet essence of her understanding of the divine design. And I am aware that the power of her effort shall not be in vain, for we shall weld together human hearts and make them wholly divine. This is possible, for we have on our side cosmic forces undreamt of by mankind in their outer world philosophy.
The actual experiences of men upon this planet are measured, even as the hairs of your head are numbered. Men today do not realize fully that they have but a limited number of seconds, minutes, hours, days and years. Decades and centuries are not theirs of necessity. They have the promise of the next moment and no more. And yet the Most High has given unto all the promise of a life upon which the Sun never sets. The words of the Foursquare City ring out yet in the consciousness of all. For the LORD God is the light of that city, and there is no night there. Night is significant, blessed ones, of a state of consciousness. And the state of consciousness that is of the night worketh in the darkness whereas the power of light works to illumine man, to shed light upon his pathway, and to bring him the power that breaks freedom’s enchainment.
As you go out into the marts and common places of life if you will gaze upon the faces of mankind (with the immaculate concept of course), it would be impossible for you to see aught except the divine expression. But if you will also gaze with the power of perception and ask yourself the question as to what is [negatively] acting [in their world], you may [discern what is acting in order to] reject it for that lifestream and thus produce the immaculate concept in action [for that one]. Then you will realize that mankind fall within the confining power of egoistic smothering whereby they actually cut themselves off from the very life essences which would vitalize their physical forms and minds and transform them into living Gods upon the planetary body.
Heaven in all of its radiance and power has never refused to grant Grace unto men when that Grace was earnestly requested. As I gaze now upon the great karmic record of the entire planetary body I can find no score where any individual has ever asked God for some specific assistance in regard to spiritual grace that that prayer went unheard or passed unnoticed. I am aware then that the unfailing light of God always bestows upon mankind within their thought and feeling worlds the very immediate answer that is the requirement of each moment. The unfortunate part in connection with its release is that men are often not aware of this proffered gift. Consequently they continue to palaver and to talk and to cry out unto God for a release of the immortal substance after that substance has already been released into their forcefield. And they take no notice of its release and do not accept the gift.
If men then would be more prone to have the faith that is the requirement for all who ask in faith, they would recognize the immediate release of immortal light substance into their worlds and they would seize upon it as the treasures of heaven! Then the great tides of life would flow and the forces of freedom would drive into men’s consciousness with all the power of a golden spike! And they would feel the energy flowing through their beings and bodies and minds as an infusion that transforms and lifts them up.
Meanwhile mankind are pierced by the thorns of life. And the enervating experiences that result and stem from the degeneration of one ego played against another cause a dissipation of their energies which is frightful to behold and is a complete desecration of the power of freedom itself. I urge therefore that mankind recognize their own God-freedom more and more, day by day, and study to show themselves approved unto God—workmen who need not be ashamed but rightly dividing the holy word of truth which is spoken unto them by God. For of old the messengers of God have spoken and the sounding forth of the message of freedom has gone unto the ends of the earth.
The fact that freedom is not completely and universally manifest is not the fault of Deity or of the ascended host. But it is the fault of those recipients who have not recognized the Grace, the descending power, the magnificence of all that God hath given and hath wrought among mankind. He continues so to do and will continue so to do. Not only will He perform a service of great magnitude for this present hour for the earth, but He will perform this service for all people and for those yet unborn, establishing the old boundaries and stretching them even beyond so that progress is possible in this your time and in His good time which is of the cycles of eternity and immortal substance.
You call me Sanctus Germanus, Holy Brother. You pay allegiance and fealty to my love for you, and you make calls and give magnificent decrees for mankind. Do you think that we do not know, that we do not see, that we do not feel your love? Those who think this is so must indeed feel that we are insensitive to the patterns of perfection evolving in your world. And this is not truth, for we are sensitive and perceptive to the very least among you. And we are more than willing to shed abroad great drops of our love so that you may actually bask in the holy anointing of the unguents of heaven that are released into your world. These holy anointings make it possible for you to feel the gift of life in a more resurgent manner that the stream of God’s love and His golden light may come to the very gateway of your heart.
And like a floodgate of joy raised up, the ancient and iron portcullis to the castle of man’s being goes up, and there is a sigh of relief in heaven itself. For now we say, the legions of light can march in and mankind can feel that their citadel, the citadel of being, can be kept by the LORD’s host and by those who have dominion over the powers of light and freedom. For freedom is not brought about by chance or by happenstance. But freedom is ever the result of consecrated effort and an immortal sense of destiny which knows that life must yield when life is commanded by God-design.
So long as individuals feel that they themselves have no power whatsoever over the powers of light that are within their hands, they have none. For man himself in his own thought does much to direct the course of his own energies, whether knowingly or unknowingly. And the path that leads to freedom is ever one of recognition and attention. It is recognition that the power of God and His Grace can be conferred in this age and day upon all who will accept it and upon all who will accept freedom and a new sense of freedom each hour, when the old doldrums of human discord and despair and dismay descend upon the consciousness as a black shroud or pall of darkness. Cast it off then! It is unwanted. Why will you cause yourself the misery of wearing this garment?
I say, be free and know that God’s love will free you from every condition you do not want! You do not need to submit to the old power of binding habits of thought and feeling. Simply because you have for a number of years entered into a certain concept and have manifested the mold of old recalcitrant substance does not mean that you must go on for the rest of your life (seeing that the rest of your life is eternity) manifesting the selfsame old bestial designs that have caused you such discomfort.
I say now, cast aside this beast and the consciousness of burden. Accept in its place the way of the Christ. Know then that the thorns which once pierced your feet need not continue to do so, for straight paths have been made by the ascended masters and their consciousness. We have penetrated every single step of the way from this planet unto the highest path of light! It is true that we have walked upon the via dolorosa, the way of sorrow and the way of pain. But we have passed beyond it, as you shall. And we have entered into the heart of God to find the fashion of His ways and of His angelic messengers, to be comforted by their power and to feel the wonderful manifestation of God’s light absolutely penetrating all of our substance.
And now I say to you, do you realize, precious ones, that when you were born as an infant you yourselves were given a tremendous impetus of God-power as the threefold flame within your heart? When your form was tinier than it is now and did not exhibit its present grossness the flame within you was bigger, by comparison, than it is in some of you at this hour. For there was no weight of accumulated karma of this embodiment to enclose the flame round about. And so in many the flame has actually shrunk in size. I do not refer here only to those in this audience, but I am referring to mankind universally. For I find that many of you here have expanded your flames until today your flames are much larger, by comparison, to the physical forms [you possessed as infants]. Therefore I today would commend you for that.
But I am certain that you are not content to bask in this simple radiation of the threefold flame of life within you, even though it be twice or three times the size of that which (you started with). It is intended however that a gigantic penetration of this substance shall occur whereby the silver cord shall be enlarged upon. And more and more energy shall be drawn forth so that mankind in this day and age, rather than diminish their lifespan to the appointed three score and ten, might expand it as in the days of old when the giants roamed the earth.* [It was in those days that people had] the very first love of the Holy Spirit manifest in the great size of their physical silver cord and in the drawing down of a tremendous power of the radiance of their Presence into their worlds which gave them continuity of life far beyond the presently appointed lifespan of man.
I remember many years ago, when Ponce de León sought the fabled fountain of youth outside of himself and went into Florida in search of that fountain. I remember how we tried to inspire upon him and to tell him many times from inner levels that the fountain of youth lay within his own power and grasp, right within his being. But he continued to search for it outwardly, as many do through the cosmetician’s art and through the eating of healthy foods and the taking of various forms of elixirs and pills, including vitamins and other sources of nutriment, many of which are good and are of value to individuals. And yet the very power of Life itself lies within the great germinal seed of God locked within the God-flame within their heart.
When men will realize the sacred and secret method of releasing a penetration of this holy flame within each cell of their body they will have regained the lost secret of youth, and rejuvenation will be possible for many. I tell you, precious ones, that even if they do not rejuvenate themselves outwardly they will have such a tremendous flow of the God-flame within their heart that they will be inwardly rejuvenated. And when the moment of their ascension comes, as it did in David Lloyd**, I tell you that the very appearance of age will actually fall from their countenance at that moment and their hair will be restored to its own natural, pristine glory. The radiance and purity of the color that shone forth in the tiny, fine, gossamer baby hair will manifest again in its full-stranded glory of ascended master perfection.
For indeed, I tell you, ladies and gentlemen, that the power of the angels is in your hair. And your hair is actually a manifestation of the great light radiance which is manifesting within the brains of the elect. When your hair, blessed ones, is permitted to grow it is intended to be an action of expanding light rays. And this is the reason why the apostle Paul, in the days of the early Church, did accentuate the growing of long hair in the women and did recommend it unto them, saying that it was a shame for women to have short hair. But the fashion of this day has changed somewhat, for the power of hair is not recognized by women.
Awake, I say! And recognize that I, Saint Germain, am speaking to you! Do you think this is an ordinary occasion, one in which you can fall asleep? I tell you, when you fall asleep you open the door to the sinister force to drive in and to prevent a continuation of our addresses! We are giving you this address in order to vivify your life and to make you children of the light and the dawn! Why will you sleep then when you can watch with the very Presence of God in your life? [Congregation rises.] Won’t you please be seated.
Ladies and gentlemen, the time of our toleration has passed! We are determined that those who will be revivified in this day and age shall manifest [this revivification], and we are determined to separate the sheep from the goats. We tell you, ladies and gentlemen, we do not want any of you to be goats! We want all of you to be the sheep of the Lord, and we want you all to follow the straight and narrow path. Therefore I say to every one of you, personally and individually, I do not want you to accept for one minute that you cannot stay awake and be alert in our dictations! For I tell you that the opportunity to hear us is one that many may have only once in a lifetime prior to their ascension. And there are some individuals who have only been given one opportunity to hear an ascended master dictation and have rejoiced ever thereafter for the release of that holy substance which has changed their lives.
Others have had countless opportunities to have our words poured forth in a very torrent of divine love, which often was not recognized for all of its glory and pristine purity and for the power which it could bring into their lives if they would accept it and drink deeply of the draught of immortal life! So long as individuals do not drink deeply of the draught of immortal life, [hearing our words] is merely a surface experience that cannot at best do more than cause them to marvel at its expression! But when men! [Messenger pounds podium] and women! [Messenger pounds podium] and children! [Messenger pounds podium] throughout the world will feel the great Life-tide flowing from the heart of God to give them power over the waning moon substance of their worlds—the emotional power and the power that can control the feelings of [misqualified] energy within their beings—and when they take dominion over the forces of their mind through the power of the Sunstream of divine wisdom then they will realize that God has of old released His energy to the earth and is releasing it to this day.
And those who are alert will have the power to perceive it. But to all others it will seem as though a voice had but spoken in the night and the language will seem but as a foreign tongue--and the message will pass unnoticed. It will be as though two ships had passed in the night, the one going east and the one going west. And these twain would never seem to meet unless the soul itself would greet the celestial dawn of the Sunstream’s radiance within the heart of the morn.
For then when this great shaft of light comes forth from God’s own purity Gabriel shall blow his horn and they who are in the graves of human ignorance shall awaken to hear the voice of the Son of God uttering forth the similitudes that are indeed causes for heavenly gratitude. For these similitudes stem from the very root and flower of heaven’s own power over the desert-self of men, raising them to the beauty of the new age and to the dawn of celestial radiance that shall sweep mankind out of all of their density patterns of imperfection.
This celestial radiance will give them understanding that shall raise the dead in consciousness until the dry reeds shall turn green and the pine trees that have been burned and rendered unfit for habitation by the elementals shall be restored. And the LORD shall open up the continents of the air*** and the green tree and the dry shall both stand in all of the fairness of the coming morning of light. And then the morning stars shall sing together for joy, and the hearts of men shall be glad and rejoice.
This great union shall spread throughout the world until the world itself, guarded and sustained by the victory of the great golden eagle from Venus, shall know the power of love to change the world and all of mortal destiny until the dust of mankind’s consciousness is transformed. And it will be transformed by the renewing of the spiritual covenants made with God into a celestial city upon earth--the vision of John the Beloved that “the tabernacle of God is with men” and He is their God and they are His people. And the light of the LORD God shall make this city indeed a place of refuge to all the mankind of this planetary body. This then becomes the vision of Saint Augustine as “The City of God.”
The beloved Goddess of Liberty in her magnificent concept inspired upon Emma Lazarus the immortal lines: “Give me your tired, your poor….Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me; I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” For the golden door of the dawn of reason and justice and mercy and freedom will come to all, and abide in all, and remain. And all of the mountains of human oppression shall be removed out of their places and cast into the sea, and the sea shall be no more. And this is the wallowing of human emotion that shall end; sympathy shall be destroyed to become compassion. And God’s boundaries shall be extended unto the farthest individual from the portals of immortality, and the measure of a man shall be known as the measure of God.
And the Teachers of light shall appear to delight the mind with the purity of divine reason. Understanding shall flow and the currents of discord shall cease to vibrate, for all will come clear in cosmic purity. Men shall receive the white stone in which is recorded their new name—the name of their Being (identified with I AM)--which shall be a thing of delight and beauty forever. And the glory of the LORD shall wax hot and consume all the iniquities of men. Thus saith the LORD. Thus speaketh the God of Freedom for the sake of mankind and for the sake of the holy cause.
And now I say, as I part from you, the flaming awe of the celestial hosts, as they bow to the great cosmic messengers of light from the Great Central Sun, ought to also appear in your consciousness. You ought not to imagine for a moment that you are mortality. You ought to catch the vision and retain it forever, as we do. This is the mirror of perfection. “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is fairest of them all?” Why, I AM! Thank you.
This previously unpublished dictation by Saint Germain was delivered by the Messenger of the Great White Brotherhood Mark L. Prophet on Monday, October 12, 1964 during the Harvest Feast of Gratitude conference, held at the Dodge House, Washington, D.C. [N.B. Bracketed words have been added for clarity in the written word.]
- On October 20, 1987 the Messenger Elizabeth Clare Prophet said that in the early golden ages of this planet and other systems of worlds the divine spark, the threefold flame, was once “fully the height that we are [today].... The flame was reduced because of mankind’s misuse of the light, even the misqualification of that light. You remember the words that are recorded in Genesis that before the Flood—which was the sinking of Atlantis—people lived to be 900 years old. And after that the lifespan was reduced to threescore and ten. Since our life depends upon the divine spark so the reduction in the divine spark resulted in the reduction of the crystal cord and the lifespan.” Genesis 5:5 records that Adam lived 930 years; Seth lived 912 years (Gen. 5:8); Enoch lived 365 years until “he walked with God: and he was not; for God took him” (Gen. 5:23, 24); Methuselah lived 969 years (Gen. 5:27); and Noah lived 950 years (Gen. 9:29). “Giants roamed the earth” refers to the Nephilim. The Hebrew term Nephilim, meaning “those who fell” or “those who were cast down,” is rendered in the Greek Septuagint, a late translation of the Hebrew scriptures, as “giants” (Gen. 6:4; Num. 13:33).

*** The “continents of the air” have been referred to by the Masters and the Messengers as a heavenly realm where the voices of angels and ascended masters may be heard. Mark Prophet spoke of the continents of the air in an invocation he gave in 1970: “O Thou infinite voice of Universal Truth manifesting in our minds and hearts, open the doorway to the continents of the air that we may hear that which man has not heard and be infiltrated by Thy loving fingers of light.”

Be Perpetual Flames of Divine Youth
Let Your Light Shine So That God’s Good Works Shine Through You
Gracious ladies and gentlemen: Élan, the science of an individual’s buoyancy and [divine] bon vivant--the understanding of the good feeling that is manifest within the soul that is finely attuned to divine Grace and able to distinguish the Source of her being raised up--this is to be conveyed to the aspirant upon the path. And it needs to be conveyed at the time that he is able to overcome those fearful momentums of the past that have generated pain and sorrow within the orbit and world of the individual. It is our desire to teach you how to rise and how not to remain bound by the cords of inertia and inactivity. It is our desire to teach you how to understand the meaning of divine Grace.
When I moved among the crowned heads of Europe and in the courts of Europe1 I entered a room carrying with me an aura of élan. That men were made to feel the buoyancy of their own souls was to them a cosmic miracle. For many of them “surfaced” and, like a cork bobbing upon the waves, they were able to feel the joy of the sparkling and gaily dancing Sun. Yet a few moments before they were indeed in a subterranean world. They were in a world of emotional substance, each one trying to impress the other with the grandeur of their face and form or to display the garments which they wore because they did not understand how they could draw forth from on high the great electric spark of God, which is far superior to all fashionable designs.
As I come to you this afternoon I desire to bring to you nonetheless the mighty favor of the court of Almighty God which will win for you that raiment that is of divine origin. I desire this for you so that you may learn how to cultivate the sparkle in the eye that is God-inspired, that you may learn how to manifest the beauty of countenance that is occasioned by familiarity with the face of God. This favor of the court of Almighty God will also win for you that divine raiment so that you may understand how you may reinforce the technique divinely employed by mystics down through the centuries whereby they were able to maintain a change in their appearance, from time to time, from [old] age to youth, and they were able to show forth the power of light as the power of transformation. This raised not only their thoughts and feelings to a state of buoyancy and joy, but it also raised their physical form so that the very atoms within the substance of that form did cavort and behave as though the very spirit of youth were indeed alive and in manifestation in themselves.
You do not know, precious ones, the activity of God that is manifest in a tiny baby. That infant, sparkling with divine desire for perfection, does attract your smile and you are able to rejoice in the face of this infant who has come, yet a little while past, from the very courts of heaven. Precious ones, understand the Law of God that does not take exception to a man or a woman because he or she is advanced in age or has matured. But understand that God is perfectly willing to bestow this selfsame spark, which is manifest in a baby, upon an individual whose “thatched roof” has become somewhat gray in tone.
I wish to call to your attention then that the life and joy of God is sparkling and dancing in the atmosphere all the time, and it requires merely an attunement of your own blessed selves with the joy of God to bring it into manifestation. First there is needed the still pool of the mind. And as though one were to cast a pebble into the mind one places a thought of gaiety and of youth and of divine delight into the pond of being. And then that one stands back at the very edge of the pond, throwing back the head with a joyous laugh and watching the ripples of this idea of gaiety, now implanted in the self, begin to manifest and stir the entire pond.
So is the emotional body affected. And when one affects the emotions soon the mind must be in hot pursuit. As a lady will drop her handkerchief and then cause a man to pursue her in order to bring it to her, so the mind will come and bow to the emotions when stirred by God-ideals. And thus there will be a reunion of mind and feeling. And in that sublime moment one can apply to the great etheric body of his being and ask that there be released therefrom a stream of radiant energy from the Godhead which is reminiscent of the moment when the soul first came to self-awakening and self-awareness and spoke and said “Lo, I AM!” with the joy that that occasion brought.
This will then be brought again to mind and rekindled so that the soul can laugh at age and at all the passages of time. And the ravages which seem to take their toll on other men need not of necessity affect you. For you can maintain (if not in the appearance world, then in the thought and feeling world) that spirit of elastic joy which is ascended-master/God-inspired. It is so desirable to do this. And yet I was able, at the court of France and other courts throughout Europe, to manifest the appearance of a man about forty years of age when I was, in actuality, in one given embodiment more than one hundred years old. Many did not quite understand just what was taking place. And some of them, I fear, secretly thought that perhaps I was in reality my own grandson or that perhaps I was a look-alike who therefore did manifest some similarity of appearance to that which they had seen and witnessed thirty or forty years past.
You must realize, blessed ones, that there lies within the domain of yourself great cosmic Laws that can change your feelings and your thinking about yourself until you are able to manifest the God-victory which overcomes the world. This in itself is a prime and potent example to mankind who, when they gaze upon you and see this manifestation, will also recognize that perhaps there is some slight deficiency in themselves. And they may desire after all to pursue the fountain of youth with greater alacrity.
Alas, O vanity, thy name is vanity. Thus mankind seek to manifest the appearance of youth and the feelings of youth. Yet they do it for the sake of human vanity, whereas we do it for the sake of the human family that we may manifest the pure image which God Himself adores. And thus we fulfill the edicts of divine Manhood.
Understand the recompense of the Law, precious ones. Each child of the light who manifests the divine principles of freedom will bring to the great God Designer the beneficent approbation of a world that cannot deny the evidence of their senses. But when individuals insist upon living in such a manner as to bring discord and inharmony into their thought and feeling worlds they will inevitably manifest this in some manner or other before their fellowmen. And thus they do, in effect, actually bring discredit upon the God who created them to be perpetual flames of divine youth and to manifest it at all times. I do not in any way despise the fact that individuals will show the appearance of age. For until they come of age and are spiritually mature they cannot, of necessity, be expected to manifest [the appearance of youth] in the outer world of form. Yet perhaps our hopes are too high.
I recall that in a conversation with El Morya of recent date I quoted the old poem: “I shot an arrow into the air. It fell to earth, I knew not where.” And Morya with a twinkle in his eye replied, “I know where.” Therefore you see, we do have our own little private jokes among ourselves. For there was a specific function involved here concerning past history and concerning an arrow and concerning an individual --and including a lady--which I am not permitted to tell you about lest I breach a cosmic confidence; and heaven perish the thought! For after all, blessed ones, if I should breach a cosmic confidence, you might be so inclined to breach an earthly one and say, “Well, the ascended master Saint Germain himself did it. Why can I not do it?” You see, precious ones, the power of example from our level must be brought to your attention, and it must be the power of a good example. Therefore you will understand that when we bow to you it is to regenerate self-confidence within your own world, because you then say to yourself “After all, Saint Germain bowed to me. And there must be something good within me that he saw else he would not have bowed to me.”
I want you to understand, precious ones, that all that the ascended masters do is with purpose and none of it is without purpose. Even when we seem to be engaged in some aspect of levity it is because we desire in our heart to spark some God-demand within your own world that will bring you the blessings of God eternally. And it will produce some change in your world that will cause joy to manifest, not for a moment like a burning candle but as a permanent forcefield in your world that will never go out because it is sparked by divine ideation.
Now if you will grasp with me this precious thought for a moment you will recognize that all of you actually hold within yourself the capacity to think. If you hold the capacity to think, then why not do so? And if you hold the capacity to think, why not do so in a cogent way (that is, divinely cogent) and recognize that such a thought is a spark to lift you up? Therefore if you think that God has wrought deliverance and freedom for you--freedom from fear, from doubt and from all that mankind have imposed upon themselves of bondage--you will say of this: “This [unreality] is nothing. It is human creation. It lacks the warmth of my divine Presence. It lacks the warmth of the ascended masters. It has no identification with permanent reality, and therefore why should I not discard it?”
Thus you will cast aside the outworn garments of self and you will replace them by the mighty transcendent garments of light by simply saying to yourself “I AM a being of divine delight. My consciousness is fair.” You will recall that in a dictation of some time past I myself did speak and said, quoting an old fairy tale, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is fairest of them all?” And I said, with all of the “vanity” I could muster, “Why, I AM!” And therefore I brought to your attention the great power and potency of reality whereby you could strengthen your own consciousness—not by seeing human vanity or seeking to daub on by paint and powder some outer semblance of divine youth but rather by dipping into the fountain of God-reality and drawing forth the spark that made you beautiful as a baby.
Understand then, precious ones, that this power lies within yourself and is from the dimensionless realm of Almighty God. It is the infinite capacity to change plastic substance into divine reality. Take your flesh forms, for example, and consider for a moment that you are a sculptor endowed with the great wisdom, the breadth, the depth and the perceptions of Leonardo da Vinci.
Consider then that you are able to change your form. How would you change that nose? How would you change those eyes? How would you change that look? How would you make that form glow? You then must decide because you are the prime mover in your own world. If you do not move in your own world, you will become subject to all of the arrows of mortal hostility that are ever arrayed against the good and the beautiful by those who desire to say, “I don’t think she really looks very nice” or “Her eyebrows are too high” or, perhaps, “Her hairline is too low.” Or they think that some other quality is just a little bit of the type that ought to be criticized.
If you will let the arrows and slings of outrageous fortune, the arrows of mortal hostility, come against you as they do against every beautiful woman then I assure you, ladies and gentlemen, you will find that you will be outpicturing these arrows of mortal hostility yourself, and then you will need to resort to all types of maneuvers in order to produce beauty in your form. And gentlemen, I assure you, you can be just as beautiful in your own way as are the ladies if you will make your application to your Divine Presence and say to that Presence:
Mold me in Thy light.
Mold me by Thy right.
Shape my form to adorn Thy Grace right now in cosmic flight.
For I am going to Thy home.
I am going, wherever I roam,
To find my way back home.
Now these words may seem to you to be just a little bit silly if taken from the standpoint of the mortal, and I assure you that I could have doctored them up to make them just a bit more palatable to your mortal mind. But they embody a certain concept of flight--a flight out of the dimension of human bondage into the radiant spheres of cosmic light, which is your home. Now you are not going to be able to get there, precious ones, by a mere wish to do so. It must be by a cosmic intent that molds and shapes not only the physical form but all of the nature that is within you! You may be inclined to say: “Why, I have a human nature and I am not able to change that human nature. It was molded over thousands of years and perhaps even a million. How do you expect that in a matter of a moment, by simply expressing a thought, I am going to be able to stir the pond of being to the point and extent where some real inroads will be made upon all the crystallized, dense substance which composes my character and manifestation?”
Ladies and gentlemen, you must start somewhere! After all you may not always look to us as though you were firemen going to a fire, but I assure you that you have a need to do so. You have a need to actually sound the sirens. You have a need to actually sound the alarms. You have a need to—as you sometimes say to one another in a laughing way--“push the panic button,” because you right now are embodied in physical form in the great cosmic university of Almighty God in order to graduate from this university summa cum laude.
And if you are to do it it must be done because you will give your attention to those things which will enable you to successfully commute to the higher octaves of life and to compute how you may end mortal strife and sin and stain and all that has brought you unhappiness. You see, most individuals give no thought whatsoever to life except to plan ahead according to mortal standards, but there is very little actual planning done by individuals according to divine standards. There is a prayer or two expressed to Deity to relieve them of personal responsibility and to transfer that responsibility to the Godhead. There is sometimes a sudden supplication made to Deity in times of trouble and stress, but very few individuals actually plan from day to day how they will be able to draw out the pattern of the cosmic man and mold themselves according to that pattern. No, blessed ones! They are so busy defending the mistakes of a misguided ego that they have no time whatsoever to be able to spiritually plan a blueprint for their own life which they themselves could design according to God-intent.
You see, you are a co-creator with God! And when He gave you freewill He also with that freewill gave you a solemn responsibility of freedom so that you would, of necessity, play a part in the shaping of your own destiny. Men today are so prone to lean upon others that many of them actually lean upon us to the point where we sometimes when they are asleep hand them a crutch or a cane in their dream state and say “Why don’t you walk with this for a while until you at least learn to support yourself from that which is [negative] substance in your own world?”
Individuals constantly cry out to us for assistance. And when we give them assistance, what do they do with it? I tell you, precious ones, they pick up a group of dictations from our level and some of them read them and actually fall asleep while reading them. Is this attention to the Word of God? Is this attention to the powers of light and divine illumination? I tell you, no. Now some individuals want formulas from us. They desire that we should give them a certain formula of an alchemical nature whereby they would be able to manifest or draw forth some outer symbol showing their power over nature.
Well, I tell you, precious ones, when you can command yourself to obey [your own directives], when you can demonstrate and obtain self-mastery all these things shall be added unto you. You will not be required to ask us the formula to express the power of divine alchemy. Rather you will simply speak the Word, and the Word will obey you. You will have obtained. You will have entered in to the blessed state of the ascended masters’ octave, even before your ascension.
Gracious ones, this is how the ascension is won--by mastery. It is not by turning to every little idle thing and saying to this little idle thing “You are important” when it is no more important than a marshmallow! Precious ones, why not enter in to the Spirit of the ascended masters? Why not perceive the ridiculous situation in which you live and dwell where from time to time you continually deny the power of heaven and the power of heaven’s sons and you give power to outer energy?
Do you know, precious ones, that a most awful state of affairs existed just before I came to speak to you? A certain black magician had locked a very hateful ray upon this messenger and was determined to prevent me from coming through. But when I came into the room I acted in the name of this messenger (because he had given to me permission to do so), and I dispersed this black magician with one glance. And he is now locked in a sphere of blue-fire substance where he will be taken by the powers of light for judgment to the very center of God’s own will.
I tell you, precious ones, mankind do not realize all the forces of evil that are being directed and misdirected against the children of light. They do not realize the powers of the invisible world--and I am now referring to the sinister world where the strategies are hatched to try to strip mankind of all the great, blessed power and reality of our octave of light. Yet I tell you truly, this world of darkness and shadow has no reality for us. For we dwell in the light of God which never fails, and we invite you to also do so. Will you come into this world of our reality? [Congregation rises.] Will you put our great purple-fiery cape upon your shoulders and will you become noblemen, able to create and dominate every situation into which you enter?
As you enter a room let the eyes of men turn upon you. But let the eyes of men turn upon the great divine God-being that you in reality are. And let that divine being sparkle and scintillate with the light of God. You do not need, precious ones, to seek some embellishment for the great God-creation that you are in reality. You need simply to let your light shine before men that they may see God’s good works shining through you. It is not necessary for you yourselves to seek to enter in to these dimensions by mortal activity. You simply require, according to cosmic Law, acceptance of the ascended masters’ hands, of your own Divine Presence’s love, of all the qualities of God. And let them sparkle through your mind. Regard your mind as substance under your divine control. Put [right] thoughts into your mind. Kick out thoughts that do not belong there!
You must win this game, as you were told in a recent decree which beloved Godfre released unto you. You must understand how to carry the ball of salvation through to the goalposts of life and not stand back with your thumb in your mouth like a suckling child. I tell you that the hour is come when seriousness must come into the world and into mankind that they may understand that the seriousness of God will bring them that divine satisfaction which means their freedom.
Do you realize, precious ones, that many individuals in this city who have material issued forth from the Summit Lighthouse have not even set foot in this house in order to come to this class and to hear our dictations? Is there sincerity in those people, precious ones? It would seem from outer judgment that one would doubt it. We who have inner judgment and inner sight are able to see all that they think and feel, and we watch as the flimsy excuses pass across their minds as to why they cannot come. Precious ones, this is the difference between a winner and a failure in the divine domain: it is right judgment and it is proper attention to detail. It is consistency in effort. It is determination exemplified in all that you think, say, feel, hear or do.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I today with the knighting sword of love convey upon all of you--every one of you--the potential office of a knight or lady of the flame. Then perhaps one day as you aspire to it and actually attain to it you will find that we will confer upon you our love and the power of our office so that in the courts of heaven you may indeed find recognition because you have striven and won. This is not an outer symbol of victory but it is the inner power of initiatic comprehension that understands all things because it has become all things.
Oneness is victory when it is understood. But union with that which is not light will not produce the spark of God-reality in your world. Hear me now, understand me now. And hold the cup which I hold. Drink the drink which I drink and be that which I AM. It is a gift of God to you. It is potential for all who hear me and for all who will exhibit the understanding that I have sought this day to convey.
In the name of heaven and the love-fire that descends without ceasing from the great throne of Life I bid you adieu. May Grace crown your noble efforts. And may the beauty of the heavenly city, in full view before your mind, spur you on to renewed heights of cosmic attainment. Again I thank you.

The Messenger’s comment after the dictation: As we are extinguishing the candles let us realize that each one of these little flames is going back to the Great Central Sun from whence it came and that each little flame is a messenger of God’s love, carrying our love back to the Central Sun, to the home not only of the ascended masters but of all of the lifewaves and evolutions of this planet and of all the planets in this solar system and throughout all the universes, worlds without end. May Helios and Vesta and Alpha and Omega and the God of very Gods, the mighty I AM Presence in the Central Sun receive our love and blessing for the Life that He has given to us and the opportunities that that Life conveys.
